This book is stuffed with information! It is divided into 9 “books”. The first explains the various kinds of social media and how they are all different and how they are used, IDs marketing strategies and tactics. Then in the next 2 books the authors talk about how to post content and integrate the various cyber social tools, SEO strategies and methods of viral marketing and content marketing. The next five books look at all the ins and outs of using Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and smaller social media services. The final chapter is devoted to using various tools like Google Social Analytics to measure performance and use that data to guide your future marketing decisions.

As a new marketer who is only familiar with Facebook it was really informative. I will be using this reference a lot when redoing my website and building my business.

This review is from: Social Media Marketing All-in-One For Dummies (Paperback)
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What’s this?)
840 pages of Social Media insight, oh my! Seriously, this is the fattest Dummies book I have seen. It is choke full of useful information regarding using today’s biggest social media platforms to market your business or band or art or beanie baby collection. This book contains 9 books in one so to speak:

    –The Social Media Mix
    –Cybersocial Tools
    –Content Marketing
    –Twitter
    –Facebook and Instagram
    –LinkedIn
    –Pinterest
    –Other Social Media Marketing Sites
    –Measuring Results; Building on Success

It will take me months to fully digest this treasure trove of information. But, so far I have learned a bit more about how to really make Facebook and Instagram work for my marketing needs as well as now understanding how to use twitter a little better – still not convinced on how use it really is. There is a whole book alone on how to make Pinterest work for, which was very informative as I know it is a good place to get some exposure, but until reading this section, I just didn’t know where to begin with it.

One of the best areas of the book is on how to tap into, understand, and put to use each site’s analytics of how you are engaging with your audience.

    Highly recommend!

Books about social media tend to fall into one of two camps: those that focus on what you might call the philosophy of social media and those that look at the nuts and bolts. This book is in the second camp. That means that it will be out of date soon, so you should buy your copy quickly and get to work.

Much of the content will continue to be useful even when things change, because the book starts with a discussion about how to plan and manage your social campaign, goes on to a discussion of content marketing, and wraps up with instructions for using data to make strategic decisions in social media.

In between, it delves deeply into Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and G+, with some discussion of more specialized, smaller social media platforms. Pretty much everything you want to know about any of the social media platforms is covered. There are lots of referrals to good online tools and discussions of issues ranging from how to make your URLs look good to the legal issues surrounding curated content. Advertising on social media is also covered.

Be sure to check on rules and procedures as you go along, since those change frequently, but otherwise this book includes all the practical stuff you need to know to use social media for your business or organization.
