Local Printing

Local Printing

After you learn what goes into creating a website, it’s a good idea to try and make money with your skills. If this is something you’ve always wanted to do, then you’re in the right place. This article is going to give you a few ideas on what you can do to use web design to generate income, so keep reading for more information.

Business Cards

Try creating a blog site for someone. These are easy to do, especially with a template based approach. You can basically just create a way for people to log into their sites so that they can update their blog every once in a while. With some of the CMS platforms out there, it’s very easy to just throw a template onto a website and then put a log in mechanism there as well so that people can do everything on their own once you’re done.

CmWeb Designs

Get some business cards made up so that you can get clients that way. All you have to do is look for a site that offers to make business cards, or you can contact a local printing company. Either way, this is one thing you have to do because it gives your work a more professional look. Make sure that your cards have contact information, like a phone number and your website. You should also make sure the colors and fonts on the card are easy on the eyes.

Creating A Website

Find out if anyone you know needs to get a social media profile built for them. Basically this is the easiest thing to do because all you have to do is fill out some information for them. However, if you want to take it a step further, what you could do is also offer to update their social media site and answer questions from people on there. Make sure that you read through all of the rules and regulations before doing anything with social media so you can let the client you’re working with know what you can and cannot do for them.

Easiest Thing

Once you’ve had a few clients, you can see if your old ones need some help with updating everything. This is when it comes into handy to have everything you’ve ever worked on backed up and commented on. If you remember what you were doing that’s great, but most of the time when things are old, you’re not going to really remember what you were doing with the site’s code. Always keep a backup of things just in case someone messes up their site or has someone else work on it and they have no idea what they did.

Easy On The Eyes

When you look for clients to build sites for, you’re going to find that a lot of people will have projects for you to do that aren’t very difficult. By using the above guide, it will be easy for you to get the clients that you need. Make sure you’re on top of everything and you’ll come out on top.

How Does Social Media Help In Measuring The Return Of Investment Of A Company? With social media being a prominent mode to gain popularity, companies streamline their efforts to build an entire presence through twitter, facebook & other popular social media outlets.
Talking about ROI, it is indispensable to form parameters before measuring the profits for a company.
Hence, business and marketing professionals who embark on the journey of social media should define what they want to achieve from using social media outlets

Investment in social media efforts CAN be measured and should be tracked with a beginning baseline and an end goal in mind. Mashable has a great article about social media ROI that includes an informative and entertaining slideshow by Olivier Blanchard. (http://mashable.com/2009/10/27/social-media-roi/ )

      Here’s the overview:
A business that wants to track their ROI from social media should start with a baseline of your company’s current growth, website visitors, online transactions, telephone inquiries, etc. If you don’t have this information, start tracking it.

Next, create an activity timeline that tracks all new social media projects: blog launches, new Twitter campaigns, press releases, etc.,

By stacking these timelines on top of one another, your company can create a picture of which efforts are working, and which ones aren’t. Over several months, you can graph your progress and watch for correlations between events, such as certain blog articles equaling more customer calls, or positive online mentions and a jump in site visitors.

Keep in mind, though, that another part of a good social media campaign and tracking ROI is having a goal in mind when you start so you know where you want to be. Your goal could be monetary return (more sales), or non-monetary (brand awareness, increase in social media mentions). It’s not too late to start tracking your progress so your business will know how your social media efforts are affecting your company.

How Does Social Media Help Writers Today? With social media being such a helpful tool for so many artists these days, namely musicians, how come the same can’t be said for unpublished writers?

Due to the Internet, the way that people get information has changed dramatically over the past twenty years. Instead of calling someone we know or going to the library, the first place that we often go to learn how to do something, or to find products or services, is the Internet. As more and more people have gained access to the Internet and started to use it on a daily basis--often as their only source of information when they need questions answered--a great deal of work has been created for copywriters. Today, millions of people in the United States, and hundreds of millions around the globe, use the Internet to access information. Many of them, without even knowing it, depend on the work of copywriters to provide them with the information that they need.

More recently, the Internet has undergone a change as a result of the rising popularity of "Web 2.0" sites, which include online forums and social media sites. The name comes from the fact that these sites continued to grow during the "dot com crash." Simply put, they facilitate communication between Internet users. Instead of presenting original content to users, these sites depend on the users to provide the content and often have little or no content provided by the company that runs the site. Wikipedia.org, YouTube.com, Craigslist.org, Facebook.com, and Twitter are well-known examples of Web 2.0 sites, but there are thousands of others.

The result is that more and more people are getting information from other Internet users through social media sites and forums. Conversely, fewer people are getting information from traditional articles posted on informational sites.

What Is The Best Way To Tack Results With Social Media Marketing? How does a business owner track their results? Are there tools or software that can show true return on investment numbers to meashure their social media? Example: Google Analytics is one great tool to identify online traffic by impeding a code within your website or blog. What other tools are on the market?

    View Comment

I use Google Analytics as a baseline approach. It gives you a lot of information. The other one I like is Quantcast.com. It gives me all sorts of weird information, such as 9% of my visitors are African American. How they arrive at that number I have no idea.

A better answer to your question is here though:
      http://mashable.com/2009/04/19/social-media-analytics/

The basic answer is to Optimize your existing analytics software using plugins or built in tools.

How Can Jobs Look At Your Social Media With Privacy Settings? Was in a debate with my wife about how can a potential employer look at your Facebook or other social media. If my privacy setting is set so that only friends could read posts or look at pics/info, how could an employer possible look at my account for possible bad stuff(not that I have anything offensive anyways). I’d be right in assuming they can’t right? Unless they added me as a friend which I’ve never heard of.

    View Comment
    1. Reply

Employers have no special privileges when it comes to social media profiles – if you’ve set your privacy settings in a way that does not allow anyone outside of your friends list to view your profile, employers can’t see it (unless someone working for the company is in your friends lists).

Things they can see regardless of your privacy settings include things like your profile picture, pages that you’re a member of and pages that you own (if they went on the page your name could be visible).

It is becoming more popular for employers to check the social media accounts of potential employees on sites like Twitter and Facebook, but with the right settings you can avoid this.

There are even sites (e.g. 7daypic.com) that allow you to share photos that they will automatically delete after 7 days – so it’s unlikely your employer would find it.

College Student Business Cards? It has been brought to my attention that handing out business cards as a college student might actually be more powerful than a resume because it shows professionalism and a confident attitude. However I’m having a hard time figuring out what exactly should I put on there. as a college student I do not have a “title” and I was wondering is there a such thing as unprofessional designs? I loveee shoes and I really want a shoe design. My major is retail management so it could fit…however Im not interested into the fashion aspect of it. Any pointers?

Business Cards are only useful when you are networking on campus or in career fairs. As you mention, it should be professional. Therefore I think the idea of having a shoe design on the card would be weird. Just have a card that is made of simple designs. Use those from Microsoft Word.

      What to put on card:

      The name of your College

      Your Name
      Major
      Your address
      Telephone #
      College Email Address

What Is A Social Media Manager ? I see job postings for social media managers and facebook. Does anyone else see these job postings on the internet lately ?

A social media manager simply manages the social media networking and marketing on behalf of individuals and organisations. A social media manager becomes the front line of customer service and can pick up communications from existing or potential customers in real time and feed them to the appropriate person. The manager can also keep an eye out for any potentially damaging or incorrect information that is being posted by others. A good manager will gain an excellent understanding of the business and be able to spot opportunities as they arise, plant seeds and connect with the right people. She can deliver content, build links, network and translate digital information from the online community.
The role is similar to that of a community manager on a website forum or public relations representative. Social media managers are often found in the marketing and public relations departments of large organizations.

Social media marketing or Social Media Optimization SMO is the utilization of Social Networking sites in the best way to market yourself as a business/brand/product.

I’d say there are at least 3 steps for Social Media Marketing
      * Social Media Presence – in social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter, MySpace),
      * Social Media Activities – Publish contents,
      * Social Media Monitoring – Monitor networking activities,
And more like Social Media Advertising, etc.

Social Media presence and activity is inevitable for any business/individual since many of the customers rely on that for purchasing decisions. A simple fact for that “78% of people trust what their social network says about a product or services and only 14% trust advertisements”

What Do You Think About Business Cards? What do you think about vertical business cards. If someone gave you a vertical business card, what would you think. Seriously what would be your first reaction.

I’m think of getting a vertical business card for my business. I know it’s a little different.

I just want some opinions. I don’t want to stray anyone away. And choose someone else because my cards are not the traditions horizontal cards.

A business card is one way of advertising your business. There is no right or wrong way to format a business card. I have received both types over the years. I personally use the landscape format as that is how cards are stored in card organizers and in peoples wallets.

I also used a multicolored card as a mnemonic device to help my customers find my card more easily.

I purchase my business cards from onqprinting.com. I created my own image online through there online business card creator using one of the backgrounds they supplied, Free. They have the thickest cards available on the internet – 16 point. Glossy cards are no extra cost. UPS shipping was included in the price and they are double sided… I paid 54.99 for a thousand cards. The best cards I have seen around. I get compliments on the cards from everyone. I have also used other printing companies before and I Know what you mean about being bombarded with advertisements.

I definitely recommend them. Everytime I get a new employee I use them, without a problem everytime. I think they are a smaller company, when I call I usually get the same people. Great service though.

My favorite software for scanning business cards is called Scan2Contacts, it’s on the expensive side (around $200) but it would appear to have the least number of errors when you scan cards. With ALL business card scanners, you need to manually check the cards once you scan them. Foreign business cards, business cards with special characters or lettering, or business cards with non traditional formatting do not always scan correctly, and if you do not check them individually, you might find down the road that the business card in Outlook is incorrect.

For scanners, I recommend the following in order of preference:
Card Scan Executive 700 Compact Business Card Scanner
      Scan Shell
      IRIS Card Anywhere

      Hi..

Social media is certainly much more than just a buzzword today. There are opportunities and measureable results that it offers that can be extremely beneficial to companies of all sizes. While Facebook or Twitter may be included it is more than that.

I knew more about social media integration , when i came contact with ezdia through internet. At eZdia, which provides the services to small to mid-size companies in order to implement social media strategies into their overall marketing plan with a skewed outlook .

      All the best:-)

You can buy the business card packages at your local disocunt or office supply stores. You can get FREE business cards on http://www.vistaprint.com
You just pay shipping. You pick the card and set up the info right online. Then approve it and your done. It is very easy

Does Kinkos Print Business Cards? Does kinkos print hand drawn business cards?

Kinkos does print business cards. They’ll charge you to set up the business card file if you haven’t already. If you have hand drawn artwork they’ll scan your artwork and place it into a file with many business cards to a page which they later cut after printed. It should be clear how they are going to place your handrawn artwork on the 3.5″ x 2″ business card. Fair warning, they will probably charge you for this pre-production work which doesn’t include actual printing and materials. Hope this helps.
