Engine

Organize your content so your website is easy to navigate. Create sub-topics for your site and start a new page for each of these sub-topics. You should connect all your pages with some individual links, for instance by placing a few links to more similar articles within the text of each articles. Creating a detailed menu will allow you to share your site-wide links and draw attention to your most important pages. Use an XML plugin to create a sitemap for your site and help search engine spiders find your content but keep in mind that your sitemap will not be helpful if your site is not well-organized.

Major Search Engines

You can make your content easier to analyze by describing it with strong keywords. Sign up on Google AdWords or on a similar service to learn more about the different keywords your readers are likely to use. Update your keywords at least once every six months since trends can change on a regular basis. Place your keywords where search engine spiders will notice them. You should describe your articles with some strong keywords in your title tags, your links with keywords in your anchor texts and your images with some title tags. Page Headers

Create new back-links for your site on a regular basis. You should focus on creating quality back-links that will be noticed rather than sharing a large number of links. You will get good results if you create back-links that will be noticed by your target audience. Find webmasters or bloggers who have the same audience and offer to exchange links. Most webmasters will be glad to feature your links if you feature their content on your website. You can also create some back-links by sharing your articles on article directories or on message boards. Always look for ways to create more quality back-links since links will eventually stop bringing traffic to your site.

Quality Website

Stay away from Black Hat search engine optimization techniques. Some webmasters use unethical methods to optimize their website, for instance by hiding content on their pages, using false redirection URLs or placing back-links on sites known as link farms. These techniques can be efficient but your pages will be banned from search results if search engines realize that you are using unethical methods. It is best to do some research on the techniques you want to use and focus on providing your audience with quality content on a regular basis so your visitors will read through your site and visit it again.

Sales Volume

You should get good results from these search engine optimization techniques. Keep learning about search engine optimization techniques to stay up to date with new trends and make changes to your strategies if necessary.

How Do You Pick Keywords For A Site? Do you pick the biggest volume? The smallest volume? How do you pick?

It is usually the best idea to use a mix of keywords in terms of volume. Obviously the biggest volume terms will bring in the most traffic to your website but they will take longer to rank than less competitive terms.

If you have a mix of terms you will start seeing traffic on the less competitive terms faster as your more competitive terms make their way up the rankings.

Obviously make sure whoever does your search engine optimization is using white hat SEO techinques.

White hat techniques are legitmate SEO techniques that are accepted by the engines. Black hat techniques can get you banned. When picking an SEO company search for white hat marketing companies.

      Good luck.

First think is be cool and think before using any technique, if this is recommended by google. No spamming or black hat techniques. Than follow my recommended steps:

      >> Do keyword research on your theme by different online tools and google adwards keyword suggestion.
      >> Optimize your page properly by those keywords.
      >> Start link building by Directory Submission, Social Bookmarking, Article Submission, Blog and forum link posting, reciprocal link exchange (Although it have less value).
      >> try the techniques you learn. I think each techniques you learn have a least contribution.

Lastly, wait and try hard specially for link building. If you can build thousands links and your on-page optimization done properly definitely you will get good result but work hard for about 6 months.

How Can I Put My Whole Website Such That It May Be Visible To Whoel Search Engines.and Every Search Enig Pick?

What you need to do with your website is search engine optimization or SEO as it is called. There are many things you need to do get your website recognized by search engines as a quality site. The minimum you need to do is submit the site to Google and Yahoo and ok also MSN. Just search for site submission or look at one of my previous best answers on the same subject of SEO. The jury is out on Meta Tags, search engines these days pay less attention to meta tags and more to the actual content of the site. There are “white hat” and “black hat” tricks you can use to boost your search engine rankings. White hat as the name implies is what are considered legitimate while black hat are sneaky underhand tactics thats used to fool search engines into raising your rankings. However with black hat techniques your site may run the risk of being blacklisted by search engines if they determine that you are using techniques to artificially boost your rankings. Again nobody is sure about this blacklist policy and the search engines dont say much. Also check out https://www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/siteoverview for a easy to use tool to submit the entire site map of your site.

SEO is not easy, especially white hat. But once you spent the effort, you will see the benefits.

      All the best.

Black hat SEO or spamdexing, use methods such as link farms, keyword stuffing and article spinning that degrade both the relevance of search results and the user-experience of search engines. Search engines look for sites that employ these techniques in order to remove them from their indices.

What Are Cloaked Web Pages And How To Find The Web Pages That Are Cloaked ? Please explain the difference between normal web pages and the pages that has been cloaked.

      Definition:
      ************
Cloaking is a technique used by some webmasters to deliver one page to a search engine for indexing, while serving an entirely different page to everyone else — in short, the classic bait and switch technique applied to the web.

Its a black hat search engine optimization (SEO) technique in which the content presented to the search engine spider is different to that presented to the users’ browser.

      Behind the scene:
      ********************

Cloaking is done by delivering content based on the IP addresses or the User-Agent HTTP header of the user requesting the page. When a user is identified as a search engine spider, a server-side script delivers a different version of the web page, one that contains content not present on the visible page. The purpose of cloaking is to deceive search engines so they display the page when it would not otherwise be displayed.

Cloaking solves problems created by many design issues, and it allows you to give the engines what they want to see (simple, text-based pages) and give the users what they want to see (a beautifully designed site). If done correctly and legitimately, there isn’t a single thing wrong with a cloaked page, and that’s the truth. In the past, some of the engine reps have even admitted that they know that there are certain instances when cloaking is needed.

      Doorway Vs Cloaking:
      **************************
Like doorway pages, cloaking has gotten a bad name, which is regretful. My philosophy is, rather than ban these strategies, let’s concentrate on doing them correctly and being above board. When it comes right down to it, we’re all after the same thing: relevant results.

“Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the visibility of a website or a web page in search engines via the “natural” or un-paid (“organic” or “algorithmic”) search results. Other forms of search engine marketing (SEM) target paid listings. In general, the earlier (or higher on the page), and more frequently a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine’s users. SEO may target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, video search, academic search[1], news search and industry-specific vertical search engines. This offers a website web presence.

As an Internet marketing strategy, SEO considers how search engines work, what people search for, the actual search terms typed into search engines and which search engines are preferred by their targeted audience. Optimizing a website may involve editing its content and HTML and associated coding to both increase its relevance to specific keywords and to remove barriers to the indexing activities of search engines. Promoting a site to increase the number of backlinks, or inbound links, is another SEO tactic.

The acronym “SEOs” can refer to “search engine optimizers,” a term adopted by an industry of consultants who carry out optimization projects on behalf of clients, and by employees who perform SEO services in-house. Search engine optimizers may offer SEO as a stand-alone service or as a part of a broader marketing campaign. Because effective SEO may require changes to the HTML source code of a site and site content, SEO tactics may be incorporated into website development and design. The term “search engine friendly” may be used to describe website designs, menus, content management systems, images, videos, shopping carts, and other elements that have been optimized for the purpose of search engine exposure.

Another class of techniques, known as black hat SEO or spamdexing, uses methods such as link farms, keyword stuffing and article spinning that degrade both the relevance of search results and the quality of user-experience with search engines. Search engines look for sites that employ these techniques in order to remove them from their indices.”

Blackhat & Whitehat SEO Methods? So yeah I’ve heard about blackhat and whitehat SEO methods, and have a general idea of what they are, but can someone tell me exactly what those methods are?

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via “natural” (“organic” or “algorithmic”) search results for targeted keywords. Usually, the earlier a site is presented in the search results or the higher it “ranks”, the more searchers will visit that site. SEO can also target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, and industry-specific vertical search engines.

As a marketing strategy for increasing a site’s relevance, SEO considers how search algorithms work and what people search for. SEO efforts may involve a site’s coding, presentation, and structure, as well as fixing problems that could prevent search engine indexing programs from fully spidering a site. Other, more noticeable efforts may include adding unique content to a site, ensuring that content is easily indexed by search engine robots, and making the site more appealing to users. Another class of techniques, known as black hat SEO or spamdexing, use methods such as link farms and keyword stuffing that tend to harm search engine user experience. Search engines look for sites that employ these techniques and may remove them from their indexes.

Because effective SEO may require changes to the HTML source code of a site, SEO tactics may be incorporated into web site development and design. The term “search engine friendly” may be used to describe web site designs, menus, content management systems, URLs, and shopping carts that are easy to optimize.

How Long Does It Take To Get Out Of Google’s Sandbox?

    View Comment
    1. Reply

No one can really tell. There are some that says it takes anywhere from 2 months to 1 year to get out of the sandbox. Some folks I know said their new sites got out of the sandbox in 9 months

Here’s what you need to do to be able to get out of the google sandbox as quickly as possible:

      – Start acquiring QUALITY links for your website – no buying of links, no exchanging links with sites not related to your topic, but links from the authority websites in your niche. The best way to do this is to create GREAT content that the big boys in your area would not hesitate to link to you

      – Make sure the site strictly follows white hat search engine optimization techniques — no black hat techniques such as keyword stuffing, doorway pages, etc

I Saw A Job Opening Titled “search Engine Optimization.” What Are The Qualifications For Such A Job? I am a recent journalism graduate with significant reporting experience. Can I play up my research skills?

    View Comment
    1. Reply

A search engine optimization expert basically helps clients understands how search engines work and get their websites to the top of the search engines. Basically you need to be able to:

      – Keep track of what’s happening with the search engines, including movements in datacenters or changing algorithms or new methodology (often from new patents granted) to rank web sites
      – Know how each of the search engine works and what the different ones, especially the big three (Google, Yahoo and MSN) require for a site to get good rankings
      – Understand the factors that can propel a site to the top of the search engines without resorting to black hat techniques (eg. doorway pages, excessive keywords, etc) that can result to the banning of the site
      – Know the process how to make a site banned by a search engine and delisted in their index to return to the SEs database
      – Know the latest tools available to help optimize a site from creating a Google sitemap to determining the right keywords of the site
      – Understand both organic and paid search engine rankings, and know how to do both
      – Manage and handle pay per click campaigns of the clients in the search engines, from determining the keywords, tracking conversions to keeping track of the costs

Research skills can be useful in terms of finding out ways how search engines work. But there are many forums and blogs where other webmasters and employees of these search engines gather that you simply go to these places to learn (e.g. SearchEngineWatch.com, WebmasterWorld, Matt Cutts blog, etc) that you don’t need any research skills at all.

Understanding and knowledge of programming is essential — e.g. managing .htaccess files, how to do 403 redirects, how to ensure dynamic URLs are accessible to the search engines. Many also help their clients plan and create content and analyze the usability of their websites to ensure better search engine access.

If you are interested in this field, I suggest you start going and reading up various forums at WebmasterWorld.com http://www.webmasterworld.com to understand the mechanics and dynamics of search engines. SEs constantly evolve so SEO experts need to be able to dissect and analyze the new changes in ranking websites and how their clients can benefit from these changes.
