Search Engine Spiders – Efficient Methods

This subject is quite a popular subject, and you will find some information in the article below. This should help you get started on your search for information. I hope you find the article relevant, and that you will share it with others. Do let us know what you think about the article.

Efficient Search Engine Optimization Methods

Using successful search engine optimization methods should help you get more visitors for your site. Read this article if you need help with choosing efficient search engine optimization strategies.

Choose different strong keywords to describe the content of your website. You should use Google AdWords to get a better idea of which keywords are popular. Compare search volumes and popularity for the keywords you are interested in. You might have to update your keywords if trends change, for instance if your customers become more familiar with technical keywords to describe your products. It is best to limit yourself to five main keywords and use more secondary keywords if you need to optimize certain sections of your site.

Place your keywords smartly. Avoid using too many keywords within your texts or your readers will realize that you are writing for search engine optimization purposes. You should use different HTML tags for your keywords so these words are analyzed as a description of your content by search engine spiders. You can optimize your articles by placing keywords in a title tag. If you need to optimize your images, add keywords to your alt tags. Make sure your links are optimized by placing keywords in the anchor texts.

The organization of your website can have a big impact on your ranking in search results. You need to help search engine spiders and human visitors find all your important pages by organizing your site efficiently. Create a detailed menu for your main pages and make sure all your pages contain a few individual links to more similar content. Review the organization of your site as you add more content, for instance by creating a detailed archive for your articles. Add an XML sitemap to help search engine spiders find all your pages but remember that your XML sitemap will not make a difference unless your site is properly organized.

Create some quality back-links for your site. Your pages will rank higher in search results if several quality sites link to this content. You can create back-links by sharing your articles on message boards, article directories or by sending them to different online publications. Contact other webmasters to see if they are interested in exchanging links with you. Getting back-links will be easier if you write quality content.

Stay up to date with new search engine optimization trends. You should subscribe to newsletters or blogs written by search engine optimization experts. Search engines often upgrade the techniques used to analyze and index pages. You need to upgrade your campaign so it remains relevant. Keep working on building more back-links and make sure the content you add to your website is properly optimized. You should keep track of your results, for instance by comparing how your site ranks in search results for your different keywords.

Adopt these search engine optimization strategies and do more research on the techniques you can use to update your campaign. Your site should soon rank higher in search results if you develop an efficient search engine optimization campaign.

Search Engine Spiders – A Quick Guide

How Do I Hire A Good Search Marketing Agency? I need to hire an agency to manage my search marketing campaigns. What are the right questions to ask potential agencies so I know I’m making the right decision? What should I look for?

    View Comment
    1. Reply

Ask about their experience. A lot of companies may not be able to share specifics of their clients, but should give you a general idea of what their capabilities are. Let them know what you’re looking to achieve – ROI, ROAS, CPA and let them show you what they think would be the best strategy.

I also think it’s important that the agency has good relationships with the engines. They may be able to get things done faster and have more pull if there is already an existing relationship.

When you begin talking to agencies, let them do most of the talking. Ask questions if there’s anything you don’t understand. You don’t want an agency who is not willing to answer your questions. Also ask what services they offer – do they just do paid search or do they offer organic search optimization? Will they write copy for you? How often is reporting done – what kind of info will you find in the reports? What is the typical timeline for a campaign launch?

Where Can I Find Learning Courses In Search Engine Optimization In The Philippines? Need to know companies or education centers that offer search engine optimization courses.

You really do not have to take a course of SEO in order to have a basic understanding of what SEO can do. Here’s an article from Google which is self-explanatory:

The most effective way to advertise on the Internet is
to first set up a website and publish its domain name
on major search directories such as, [at…… and since 85% of Internet shoppers rely on these
search directories to provide them with goods and
services. In a sense, these search directories are a
      very large Internet Yellow Pages.

Nevertheless, should your website or opening webpage
fail to contain “generic” keywords, then anyone using
such “generic” queries will not be able to discover
your website. Your domain name [URL] of your website,
in a sense, will be invisible, undiscoverable.

You may want to consider some simple algorithms which,
when observed and committed in designing of a website
with placement of various critical metatags that can
surely achieve a high search engine presence and
increase Internet traffic to your website. These
metatag strategies work well with published webpages
      at Google and Yahoo.

Design: Should you create an extensive Flash-based
website, make sure to fill-in the property entries
such as the Title, Description and Keywords. Failing
to do so, leaves no hard HTML or ALT resource that can
be readily indexed by search robots. Also consider the
Internet audience and their incoming setup. For
example, if they are on analog/dialup, Flash webpages
take too long to load up and therefore analog users
will likely lose interest and discontinue entering the
Flash site. On the other hand, anyone on hi-speed DSL
lines, will welcome Flash pages which load quickly. So
before designing a pure Flash websitge, ask the simple
question, “Who’s my end user – is he on dialup or
DSL?” And if you had to choose between these two users
for maximum marketability, then select analog users
since 80% of most resident users are still analog
Internet subscribers and pure HTML designed webpages
      is best for them.

A non-Flash-based website which relies on hard text,
is far easier to be indexed by search robots. Limit
the use of stylized text saved as .gifs since as a
graphic, they are not indexable by search robots.

Avoid use of frames since any number of search robots
are unable to properly classify textual material.

      Placement of Metatags:

A ranking or search order does take place with Google
and Yahoo and it begins with the “Title” metag which
should consist of no more than 65 characters separated
by commas. The “Title” should describe in generic
terms, the goods and services, followed by a location
from which the resource is located, i.e., city, state.
The placement of a domain name which is not generic
within the “Title” is not appropriate, unless your
domain name is a major recognizable brand name.

The second metatag is the “Description” which is
usually 25-30 words to form a complete sentence which
best describes one’s goods and services.

And the very last category – “Keywords” are also
somewhat limited to 15-16 words which can be plural
and compound in nature. Again, avoid multiple entries
which could be mistaken as “spamdexed entries” which
is defined as the loading, and submission of
repetitive words into a particular metatag category.
“Spamdexing” when discovered on a webpage and reported
to Google’s can result in the
elimination of your website from their search

      Good luck!

You’ll want to understand the basics of regular expressions if you want to have a crawler, similar to google. Both PHP and Perl have native support for this.

you can get a copy of the PHP manual free at
A perl documentation can be found at

PHP is newer, and more newbie friendly, while Perl is older, and probably more stable and powerful.
Which ever language you plan to use, stick with it.

As for Mysql: It doesn’t matter too much whether you use MySQL, or some other engine, because the syntax of SQL won’t be too different from one platform to the next. MySQL happens to be free, and one of the most popular.

Creating your own search engine can be pretty tricky, especially if you have no idea how to program in PHP. the best advice I honestly have though is regular expressions. Without those, your search engine probably wont do very much.

How To Understand Search Engine Optimization?

    1. Reply

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the visibility of a website or a web page in search engines via the “natural” or un-paid (“organic” or “algorithmic”) search results. Other forms of search engine marketing (SEM) target paid listings. In general, the earlier (or higher on the page), and more frequently a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine. SEO may target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, video search and industry-specific vertical search engines. This gives a website web presence.

What Is Search Engine Optimization? I am new in web developement. Can any one tell me what is search engine optimization?

    1. Reply

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via “natural” (“organic” or “algorithmic”) search results for targeted keywords. Usually, the earlier a site is presented in the search results or the higher it “ranks”, the more searchers will visit that site. SEO can also target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, and industry-specific vertical search engines.

As a marketing strategy for increasing a site’s relevance, SEO considers how search algorithms work and what people search for. SEO efforts may involve a site’s coding, presentation, and structure, as well as fixing problems that could prevent search engine indexing programs from fully spidering a site. Other, more noticeable efforts may include adding unique content to a site, ensuring that content is easily indexed by search engine robots, and making the site more appealing to users. Another class of techniques, known as black hat SEO or spamdexing, use methods such as link farms and keyword stuffing that tend to harm search engine user experience. Search engines look for sites that employ these techniques and may remove them from their indices.

The initialism “SEO” can also refer to “search engine optimizers”, terms adopted by an industry of consultants who carry out optimization projects on behalf of clients, and by employees who perform SEO services in-house. Search engine optimizers may offer SEO as a stand-alone service or as a part of a broader marketing campaign. Because effective SEO may require changes to the HTML source code of a site, SEO tactics may be incorporated into web site development and design. The term “search engine friendly” may be used to describe web site designs, menus, content management systems, URLs, and shopping carts that are easy to optimize.

How Does Search Engine Works..? Please answer it in descriptive way..

    View Comment
    1. Reply

Internet search engines are special sites that help people find information online. A search engine maintains a database of all websites or web pages it has indexed.

When someone uses a search term to do a search, the search engine will go through its database and pick the sites that it deems to be relevant to the search term used. It does not search the Web actually at this point. It merely presents to the searcher those sites that it already has in its database.

Search engines have software programs called “spiders” that search the Web continuously. These spiders crawl websites and web pages then identify them according to prominent words or keywords.

A new website crawled by spiders will be reported and recorded in a search engine’s database according to the category or keyword that it has been perceived to belong to. Spiders will keep coming back to the site to find any new information worth recording.

Websites that appear on the first pages of search results usually have high page rank. This ranking system is based on mysterious algorithms that vary among search engines. A website has to rank for a keyword or search term.

Websites with high page ranks are usually those perceived by search engines to be important sites or authority sites. This means they have many other relevant sites linking to them, ideally, through hyperlinks that use their keywords as anchor texts.

Any Affordable Search Engine Optimization Systems For Small Business? Have a small law firm. How do I optimize my web site?
I thank you in advance for you answers

Search Engine optimization (SEO) is the new buzzword of the internet age. There are several people (and their brothers) that will promise you the moon – guaranteeing you high placements in search engine results. But take this with a grain of salt.

      – As long as you have unique content, it will only be a matter of time before the search engines find you and you get listed in the search results.
The key here is “unique” – If you are a law firm highlight your skills – make sure the unique words that qualify you appear on your website.

For Instance if you are a lawfirm specializing in doing elderlaw in Queens Newyork – make sure the keywords : elderlaw, Queens and NewYork appear on your content page(s). This way you are creating a niche – as opposed to “Queens law firm” which will yield several more results.

      – And above all be patient!!! Search Engine positioning happens over time. If you try overly aggressive techniques to short circuit the time factor, you could get penalized by the search engines and get completely de-listed.

Search Engine Spiders are not people. They do not look at a picture and know what it has in it. You have to tell the search engine spider what the picture is or what it depicts with an “alt” tag. This is also important to do for the visually impaired (yes they use the net too). Do not abuse this power (try to spam hidden keywords) or the search engine powers that be will punish you. However this is the way they expect you to give them the information regarding photos or diagrams that would otherwise be useless to the spiders.

What Is SEO Or Search Engine Optimization? How To Do SEO?

    View Comment
    1. Reply

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) techniques can either be organic or paid. Paid (PPC) can be useful in identifying the keywords you should target for your SEO campaign, however, many small companies cannot afford these types of PPC campaigns. Organic SEO involves optimizing on-site SEO by first identifying your target keywords and long-tail keywords. A long-tail keyword phrase is the best technique for small businesses because there is usually less competition for these keywords, and it is rare for someone to enter just one word into a search engine search bar. Examples of long-tail keywords are: “Organic butter from Lancaster PA”, or “Organic Pick your own berry farms in PA”, whereas regular keywords are “Organic butter”, “butter”, “Berries”.
You will want to target low to medium competition keywords with medium to high search volume. You can also try GEO-SEO which is using your geographic location to target customers, which might be useful for a small store trying to attract local customers.

Here is what you should target for SEO:

-Use your keywords that are relevant to each pages content in your title tags,

      tags, and meta-description tags.
-Make sure to use alt=”” attribute in your image html (search engine spiders can’t see your images, so help yourself by helping them and use the alt=”” attribute.
-The higher your content is on the page (above the fold), the more value it will impart.
-Link to other pages (deep pages) within your own website.
-Link to others in your industry (relevant)
-Make sure you have a call to action on any pages that you would want to place “contact us at”.
This is your big neon sign that screams “Get Yours Here!”

Off-site SEO involves building back-links to your website from other sites that have high authority, are popular, are a valuable resource in their industry (your industry).

I go into this in great detail on my website blog and I recently answered a question on back-links for Yahoo! if you would like to know more 8)

Search Engine Spider Question? I think the search Engine spiders are what collect the pictures for cached webpages, and they do that every so often. After they collect another picture of a website, what happens to the old cached page? Is it stored away somewhere or just deleted and replaced? How often do spiders take a new picture of a website?

Also, Do all the different search engines have a different “spider”?

    View Comment
    1. Reply

Yes all the other search engines have spiders, the only way for these spiders to find your site is by following links to your website, the more links pointing to your website the more it gets crawled.

I dont think the spiders collect a picture each time they visit your site, I think that is done differently.

A cache of a page is deleted when a new one is made, there is a website called “the way back machine” which tends to keep caches for awhile.

      Hope that helps
