Search Engine Spiders - Optimization

We will take a look at SEO in the following article. It is a good place to start if you are new to the subject. There is a lot more information available for those that want to make a more detailed study.

Tips to Help You Optimize Your Website

Different Places

Increasing your visibility is the best way to improve sales through online resources. You must build a website with search engine optimization in mind. Ranking highly on the major search engines will ensure that more customers know where to find you online. Read these basic tips to help bring more visitors to your website.

Engine

Choose keywords and phrases that are important to your business. Use a keyword tool to help you find keywords that are relevant to your website without having too much competition. Obvious, simple one-word keywords will probably ensure that you will never be on the first page of any major search engines. Choose keywords that are specific to your webpage. Use keywords multiple times on every page of your website. Your keywords need to make sense within the content. If you have the same keywords on your page too many times, the web spiders may flag your site as spam or ignore it because it is considered over optimized.

Linkedin

It is important to register your website on all the major search engines. You can also register on the smaller search engines. But the big three search engines are responsible for a large majority of web users. Registering your website on each search engine only takes a short amount of time. However, registering on all of them could take quite a lot of time. Avoid services that charge you to register your website on many different websites. >

Keywords are not only important in the content of your site, they should be built into the construction of your website. Content that is embedded in graphic images and Flash cannot be read by search engine spiders. Every page of your website needs to have a distinctive title tag with keywords. Be sure to repeat your keywords but not in the exact same way.

Right Time

Do not submit duplicate content. That won’t improve your search engine results. Make sure your content, whether on your website or in a blog, is relevant to your customers. Writing nonsense won’t increase your visibility, make your website more popular or bring customers back to your website. Make sure all the content means something to the people who visit your website. Avoid using dated material that will expire after a short period of time.

Search

Link backs can be extremely valuable to your website because it gives your company legitimacy. Having other sites link to your site makes it easier for web crawlers and customers to trust you. It is necessary to create link backs with companies who are somehow related to what you do. Irrelevant link backs will not improve your search engine visibility. When creating link backs, discuss keywords to be used by each website to link to the other. The links should include your more popular keywords.

Great question….In the pass submission did play a role . However, presently website relevancy is key. How optimize is your site with keyword location. In other words if your site deals with let say “jean” it’s very important to place keywords dealing with jeans throughout your site. Also keep this in mind, optimize your indivisual pages as oppose to your website.

If You Want To Get Your On-line Store Visible Where Is The Best Place To Have It? Besides search engines, no one is going to click on your store if they never heard of you. Any suggestions?

“If you build it, they will come” is not necessarily true on the Web. Putting a website up is one thing, but getting visitors to come to your site is another. The process becomes even more difficult if you have limited resources to market your business.

Here are some shoestring marketing ideas that can help you get the visitors you need at the least cost possible:

      1. Create the best content you can with the best products you can possibly offer. Your content is your best advertisement – if visitors love your products, then they will go back and spread the word to others.

      2. Make it easy for users to recommend your site. Viral marketing is very important — and easy to tap on the Web. But give your users the tools. Get a Recommend this Site script from websites such as cgiscripts.com and similar directories of scripts. Some even go as far as giving incentives to those who recommend the site to their friends. If only 10 people go to your site, but these 10 people invite 10 more – that’s additional traffic that you get for FREE!

      3. Rank well in the search engines (organic search results, not the pay per click). SEs can be a big source of traffic. The key is to create the best content in your niche. If you have good content, other websites will gladly link to you and offer your site as a resource to their audience. Check the on-page factors and be sure to get linked from authority sites in your topic area.

If you are going to read only one piece on search engine optimization, I suggest you read Brett Tabke of WebmasterWorld.com’s “Successful Site in 12 Months with Google Alone: 26 steps to 15k a day.” http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum3/2010.htm

      4. Send out press releases. While outfits charge as much as $650 per release, there are free press release submission places on the Web. Press releases allow you to (a) attract media attention; (b) get more back links to your website without sending each website an email request; and (c) get more visibility especially if your press release gets in Google News or Yahoo News. My website (see my profile) accepts free press release submission (no strings attached!)

      5. Submit articles. Write articles and submit them to websites accepting author submissions. You get exposure for your business; establishes you as an authority in your field, and allows you to get backlinks for your website. If 50 websites publish your article and it contains a link back to your website, then you easily get 50 links from a single article. The more links you have, the greater your chances for increasing your search engine rankings.

      6. Improve your conversion. Getting visitors is one thing; getting them to buy your products is a whole different story. Read the article “10 Ways to Convert Visitors to Buyers” http://www.powerhomebiz.com/072005/conversion.htm for tips on how to improve your conversion rates.

Search marketing is the process of gaining traffic and visibility from search engines through both paid and unpaid efforts. It encompasses:

SEO: Earning traffic through unpaid or free listings

SEM: Buying traffic through paid search listings

Originally called "search engine marketing," the shorter phrase "search marketing" is now often used as the umbrella term over SEO and SEM. The longer phrase "search engine marketing" -- or SEM -- is now typically used to describe paid search activities.

Does Ranking High In Search Engines RAISE Page Rank? Does ranking high in search engines raise page rank? For example, a site that is created for a long tail keyword like… ” I need to fix t.v.”

If a site ranked number 1st on google for that keyword phrase with a low page rank of 0, would that raise the site’s page rank by being high on search engines?

Ranking high on the search engines mean increased visibility. That means other sites may discover your content and like it enough to link to you.

With more links you get from being #1 for your term in the search engines, you can manage to increase your pagerank

Can You Iframe Search Engine Results For Users? I’m building a site for someone and wanted to add a search box to their site. I don’t want to make this site php or anything and and was considering using a free search box on the site like google search, rollys.

I’ve found with testing it when you click search you get taken to the search engine’s site and away from the site you’re on. I don’t like this. I want users to stay on the site, but see the results. Is there a way for me to add a free search engine and set the “onclick” or something to load a new page?
Can the “background” look like the normal page with working links and all but an iframe of the search results in the content?

Test pages and code would be helpful. Thanks!
    Sweet! Thanks so much!

Try this – I’ve set an initially invisible Iframe – click on the span element (the word “Search”) and it opens up google search in the Iframe, still within your page…

      Good luck !

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is anything you do that helps your websites’ pages rank higher in the search engines for your targeted keywords.

There are two distinct components of SEO, On-page and off-page.

On-Page optimization is everything you do to the code and your website pages like having search engine friendly urls or a suitable title element.

Off-page optimization is everything you do externally for your website like making sure you have the best possible anchor text for inbound links.

Spend a few hours reading through this excellent tutorial http://www.seo-blog.com/tutorial.php and you will be an expert!

      ============ ============ ============ ============
Submitting your Blog/Website in search engines
      ============ ============ ============ ============
99% Searches are made in top three search engines, namely, Google, Yahoo ( Altavista ) and MSN ( live ). 60% of them are made in Google alone. so you need to submit your site only in top three search engines, and most importantly in Google. Don’t use any software or website which claims to submit your site 1000s of search engines even if it is free, It may have adverse effect on your site’s Google rating ( called Pagerank).

There are three ways to submit your URL to search engine –

      1. Submitting your URL manually in each search engine ( I will recommend you submit in top 3 at least, links are given in resources )

      2. List your blogs or websites in relevant directories in most relevant category. Directories are good source of traffic as well as they increase the visibility of your website for top search engines. Just submit your site to free online directories and classifieds manually. ( some are given below in resources and search in Google for more )

      3. Use Social bookmarking websites to spread your articles. periodically write useful and fresh articles and make them popular in interested people. it will improve all brand, traffic, customers and search engine positions. ( See resources list ).

    2. is paying for the sposored adwords google thing might decrease it position in google normal non commercial result?
    3. how can a search that is identical to a website name does not come in the first results easily!

The reason you appear in meta search engines and not in the top search engines has to do with visibility, or a lack thereof. Your meta tags and title tags are probably doing just fine if your positioned well in the search engines that use those fields as the defining criteria.

The search engines you should care about are Google (with a 64% marketshare), Yahoo! (with 20%), and MSN (with 10%). Ask has less than a 4% share, followed by the all the rest.

The formula for ranking, simply put, is:

Quality, Traffic-Driving Content + Relevant Inbound Links = High Positioning

Quality Content includes have titles that are more appealing in the search engine results pages, increasing your CTR. It also means having engaging content (like video) to maintain a low bounce rate. It doesn’t hurt to follow the 10 steps at http://www.top10seotips.com to improve the way web crawlers index and categorize content either.

Relevant inbound links (IBLs) should come from popular websites on pages that relate to your product or service. A link from a farming page to a page about dating will have less value than a link from a dating article. A link from a site with little traffic will have less value than a link from a site with plenty of traffic.

      Good Luck!
