Many readers and enthusiasts find that this blog is a great place to start if you are new to the subject. We provide detailed resources like photos, articles, videos and links that may be of good use for those who want to make a more detailed study about it.

Use Your Words for SEO

Whether you’re happy with your ranking on search engines, or you’re looking to improve your ranking, keeping up with SEO tips can be useful for your business. Use the suggestions below for prioritizing the language you use and include in your online materials in order to improve your SEO.

If you’re not hiring a specialized company to help assist you with your site and its rankings, you can still manage your content to more effectively achieve SEO ranking by choosing and reviewing the words you choose. For instance, periodically consider whether keywords or titles can be changed to better describe your business, especially if you find you’re getting lost in the crowd when you perform an organic search for your business.

Consider adding captions to all photographs and other visual material you include on your sites to better assist search engines in classifying materials you’ve included on your sites. The old rules about challenges in categorizing visual materials still apply.

Make sure that your images all include alt text. You can easily add alt text by following specific instructions on how to do so that provides for alt text or for title/alt text or some such other variation. You’ll know if you’ve successfully added such text because the words you include will come up when you put your mouse over the image.

In your written content for blogs or newsletters, include references in your main text to images you’ve included on your site that include language you’ve also included to caption the images.

If your online materials include videos, including a transcript of the video can be helpful in terms of helping search engines sort through your content. Although, less often thought about, videos are also images and are frequently more difficult for search engines to sort through than text.

Save time by making double-duty use of the work you perform in terms of captioning text or including transcripts for video by reusing the content or the words you’ve chosen on your other sites. You will not be committing the major no-no in the search engine world of producing duplicate material simply by capitalizing on the work you do and including it on your other sites.

If your sites include podcasts, you should also try to make sure that your podcasts are available on iTunes. iTunes provides podcast producers with easy to follow directions on how to get a podcast published on iTunes.

Regardless of how you choose to better craft words that will improve your SEO, make sure that you don’t commit the SEO sin of keyword stuffing. If you’re unsure about whether your text is going to be flagged for keyword stuffing, do some research ahead of time for tips to avoid keyword stuffing. Writing naturally, is often advised as an excellent means of avoiding keyword stuffing.

If you’re looking to improve or maintain your SEO, the words you choose to express yourself throughout materials online are important. Use the suggestions above to improve SEO by paying attention to the words you use.

If the above article helped your understanding of SEO please pass on the word about our site. We would like to help everyone gain a better understanding of the options they have available.

What Is The Difference Between Different Search Engines? What Should I Use? There are many popular search engines in the internet. What is the difference between them? Example Ask Jeeves, AOL, Google, Infospace, MSN and Yahoo! Can anyone expalin to me what are they for, this different search engine?

I would go with AOL, Google, MSN, and Yahoo!. The reason is because those are the most popular and professional ones. Ask Jeeves is just the search engine Ask in kid version which is a kids’ homework helper. Infospace is a non-popular search engine. And some people use it. But its not as good as the other ones. Ask is good but it has a lot of ads. Which gets really annoying.

Search Engines Provide Efficient Way To Access The Information. Justify The Statement? Search engines provide efficient way to access the information. Justify the statement
Answer should not be more than 7 lines.

Search engines filter out necessary keywords and key sentences that help detect relevant information towards the topic of choice. thus, being able to filter out information would make it efficient, as the time needed to find information would be greatly reduced. (With time being the most valuable and scarcest resource to humanity)

If you have a hosted site with your “” as the address
you can go to Google & Yahoo and ask them to add your site to their search engines for free.
You can also join Adsense from Google and add a meta data tag line to the header of your home page.
When you join Adsense you can also elect to pay per click to advertise your site on the right hand pane of the Google search page you can elect to pay a 1cent per click or a 1 dollar per click, the more you pay the higher up the list it goes. You offset this cost by putting Adsense banners on your site, advertising similar services to yours.

You use search engines to find information but more than that…

Search engines like Google prioritise information. The most important and popular documents go near the top. So you use search engines to find “relevant” information.

Search engines have evolved over the last 15 years. When I first started using search engines, you’d type in a keyword and get loads of results that weren’t prioritised, they were just a collection of pages that matched the word I had typed.

Information changes constantly, so we also use search engines to find up to date information. We don’t want to read information that is a day old, we want information that is new and up to date. We can use search engines to find the up to date information.

Search engines are there for convenience. We don’t want to sit and search through hundreds of documents, we want the information that is relevant.

Some search engines provide localised information, information relevant to our particular language or culture. Google has various versions of it’s web site, English, French, German. The United States version of Google, the Irish version and so on.

      – Convenient Information
      – Prioritised Information
      – Relevant Information
      – Updated Information
      – Localised Information

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Software Reviews @

Search engine optimization (SEO), a subset of search engine marketing, is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via “natural” (“organic” or “algorithmic”) search results. Usually, the earlier a site is presented in the search results, or the higher it “ranks,” the more searchers will visit that site. SEO can also target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, and industry-specific vertical search engines.

A typical Search Engine Results Page (SERP)As a marketing strategy for increasing a site’s relevancy, SEO considers how search algorithms work and what people search for. SEO efforts may involve a site’s coding, presentation, and structure, as well as fixing problems that could prevent search engine indexing programs from fully spidering a site. Other, more noticeable efforts may include adding unique content to a site, and making sure that the content is easily indexed by search engines and also appeals to human visitors.

The term SEO can also refer to “search engine optimizers,” a term adopted by an industry of consultants who carry out optimization projects on behalf of clients, and by employees who perform SEO services in-house. Search engine optimizers may offer SEO as a stand-alone service or as a part of a broader marketing campaign. Because effective SEO may require changes to the HTML source code of a site, SEO tactics may be incorporated into web site development and design. The term “search engine friendly” may be used to describe web site designs, menus, content management systems and shopping carts that are easy to optimize.

      Yes, Search engines make money.
The search engines themselves make money on the internet with different ways:
      Some exmpls…
By advertisers for presenting online “banner” ads to users( ex:PPC)
Collect marketing data on consumer habits, then selling the data or using it for targeted advertising.
Make money by websites to become listed
Make money by websites for better placement in lists
Make money by websites to purchase keywords for themselves
Make money by users for searches
Make money by other search engines to use their catalog
      e-Commerce Services, etc..

All search engine are pretty useful. Sometimes stuff that you can’t find on google can show up on yahoo. Though I rarely use other search engines beside google since I always find what I’m looking for when searching with it.

And the highest source of traffic in the internet comes from search engines.

Search Engines? I have developed a website for my company and have submitted it manytime to yahoo and google, to things they dont seem to appear and what other search engines can i submit to all help gratfully recieved.

There are literally thousands of search engines. All you need do is type the word “search engines” into your search slot and presto you’ll be looking at loads more than you can deal with.

I’ve got at least 20 stored in my favourites.

Google is not the best search engine by any means. What it does do however, is make life easy for us surfers. However, for more detailed searching there are other and better engines.

There is so much competition between search engines, that the Yahoo spell checker seems not to know that the word Google is now part of the English language. Just how childish is that?

Directory Style Search Engine? What is Directory style search engine

    View Comment
    1. Reply

      Hi Caz…

There are two main types of search engine… Directory based and Key Word driven.

Directory search engines are the likes of,,, along with home pages of most broadband service providers like Tiscali etc. This is where people can search for a business or service in a certain area; eg: Who, What, Where search like ‘Builders’ in ‘Birmingham’ They are ‘powered’ by the databases of BT and Thomson Local.

Key word searches bring results of more specific ‘phrase’ enquiries. The results of a ‘key word’ search are list or database of Websites who’s content and preferred keywords have been checked by the engine’s ‘spiders’ and stored on the database, and shown only if the website content has relevence to the search word or phrase you have entered. Google, Yahoo etc are examples.

You can normally tell if it is a Directory style search as there will normally have two or three boxes to put the info, eg Business Name (Who); Business Type (What); Town or Postcode (Where). Key word search generally only have one box to enter your question or keywords.

Hope that is not too ‘techie’ and answers your question for you.

Search engine optimization is optimizing your website for better indexing on the search engines (Google, yahoo, live etc).

How do you do that is –
      1. Add relevant content to your site.
      2. Use correct keywords and Metatags in your html (Search engine crawlers browse through these)
      3. Use quallity backlinks from related high quality sites.

Then your website is optimized and probably willl appear in top of test results beating the hell of other sites over there in internet. Example of optimized site:
