Paragraph Headings and Page Exposure

Have you researched SEO but are unsure how to get the best use out of it? Have a look at the article below. We are sure it will point you in the right direction. Based on our feedback so far, it has helped many readers. While you are here, have a look at some of the other articles as they, too, are filled with advice and tips on how to avoid the common mistakes.

Use SEO to Maximize Page Exposure

Over the last decade, thousands of people have earned a living from trying to figure out the Google search algorithm methodology. Some of those have figured out ways to hack the system, but Google, being very smart, has figured out how to prevent that and to punish those who use such unscrupulous tactics. Fortunately there are things you can do to improve your rankings, without incurring the wrath of Google.

Google looks at the document format and carefully considers the title and heading for relevancy. The headings should support your title and have matching keyword phrases.

Both the title and paragraph headings should be relevant to the site content as well as the keywords. If you try to get around this by using fluff, Google will penalize you.

Many people overlook the importance of page names. These are included in the metadata and are one of the first things that Google parses. This makes them especially important.

Backlinks are the bread and butter of high search rankings. The more high quality backlinks you have the better your site will rank. There are many ways to acquire good backlinks and you should use as many techniques as possible.

The links you use within your site also matter. This relates to having a good site map that links various information and resources on your site. Making good use of anchor text makes your site easier to navigate and use and Google recognizes this as a sign of a quality site.

Content is king! Google’s bots have gotten very smart and they can now easily recognize fluff. Provide your readers with quality, useful, original content and you will be rewarded.

A website that offers useful tool will be noticed. High quality downloads are also a sign of a useful site. Downloads will keep visitors returning to your site, which Google will recognize as a sign of a useful site. The result is a higher page rank and even more traffic.

One characteristic of useful content is that it stays focused on a single topic. This should be the topic related to the keywords you are trying to showcase. Don’t talk about cats if you are trying to attract visitors searching for dogs. Staying on topic is another sign of a useful website.

Duplicate content is a sin. That appears to be an attempt to pad the site with what looks like more information but is actually just fluff. Search engines will easily identify this and your site will be penalized.

Although it is difficult to get a top level domain with the desired keywords, you can name individual pages with names that include keywords. Pay attention to your page names and make an effort to create a site design that supports the keywords you are attempting to showcase.

Search engines are in the business of providing quality results to their visitors. Every once in a while, someone discovers a way to game the system and increase their rank, but the search engines will quickly catch on to the technique and will then penalize you for not following the rules. If you care about your site and your page rank, take the time to develop a quality site with quality content. The rest will take care of itself and you will see your page rank quickly increase.

Many readers have given us feedback to say they are going to tackle their the subject in a very different way as a result. Will you?

How To Get Good Search Engine And Page Rank ? How many ways are there to get good page rank and search engine rank ? Please give me some valuable and worth full suggestions.

You may want to consider some simple algorithms which,
when observed and committed in designing of a website
with placement of various critical metatags that can
surely achieve a high search engine presence and
increase Internet traffic to your website. These
metatag strategies work well with published webpages
      at Google and Yahoo.

Design: Should you create an extensive Flash-based
website, make sure to fill-in the property entries
such as the Title, Description and Keywords. Failing
to do so, leaves no hard HTML or ALT resource that can
be readily indexed by search robots. Also consider the
Internet audience and their incoming setup. For
example, if they are on analog/dialup, Flash webpages
take too long to load up and therefore analog users
will likely lose interest and discontinue entering the
Flash site. On the other hand, anyone on hi-speed DSL
lines, will welcome Flash pages which load quickly. So
before designing a pure Flash websitge, ask the simple
question, “Who’s my end user – is he on dialup or
DSL?” And if you had to choose between these two users
for maximum marketability, then select analog users
since 80% of most resident users are still analog
Internet subscribers and pure HTML designed webpages
      is best for them.

A non-Flash-based website which relies on hard text,
is far easier to be indexed by search robots. Limit
the use of stylized text saved as .gifs since as a
graphic, they are not indexable by search robots.

Avoid use of frames since any number of search robots
are unable to properly classify textual material.

      Placement of Metatags:

A ranking or search order does take place with Google
and Yahoo and it begins with the “Title” metag which
should consist of no more than 65 characters separated
by commas. The “Title” should describe in generic
terms, the goods and services, followed by a location
from which the resource is located, i.e., city, state.
The placement of a domain name which is not generic
within the “Title” is not appropriate, unless your
domain name is a major recognizable brand name.

The second metatag is the “Description” which is
usually 25-30 words to form a complete sentence which
best describes one’s goods and services.

And the very last category – “Keywords” are also
somewhat limited to 15-16 words which can be plural
and compound in nature. Again, avoid multiple entries
which could be mistaken as “spamdexed entries” which
is defined as the loading, and submission of
repetitive words into a particular metatag category.
“Spamdexing” when discovered on a webpage and reported
to Google’s can result in the
elimination of your website from their search

      Good luck!

I am not sure why you would structure a paper with paragraph headings? Are you writing in an outline format, which is usually for proposals?

Organizational Learning is found allover the net. There are many branches of organizational learning. Have you looked at Procheska and DiClemente’s Transtheoretic Model? It has 5-6 stages of change that are now vogue in organizational theory. You can also look at Quality Evaluation paradigms or Debra Stone’s book Policy Paradox?
      Peter Senge is also good.

You use search engines to find information but more than that…

Search engines like Google prioritise information. The most important and popular documents go near the top. So you use search engines to find “relevant” information.

Search engines have evolved over the last 15 years. When I first started using search engines, you’d type in a keyword and get loads of results that weren’t prioritised, they were just a collection of pages that matched the word I had typed.

Information changes constantly, so we also use search engines to find up to date information. We don’t want to read information that is a day old, we want information that is new and up to date. We can use search engines to find the up to date information.

Search engines are there for convenience. We don’t want to sit and search through hundreds of documents, we want the information that is relevant.

Some search engines provide localised information, information relevant to our particular language or culture. Google has various versions of it’s web site, English, French, German. The United States version of Google, the Irish version and so on.

      – Convenient Information
      – Prioritised Information
      – Relevant Information
      – Updated Information
      – Localised Information

How Search Engines Exactly Work? Would you let me know how search engines work and how it finds the content of the pages?
i want to know its algorithm and how it scan the pages to retrieve its related ads or keywords?

Search engines are complex piece of software. To be able to know about a page, you’re right, it has to discover it. This can be done in many ways:
      – see a link from another page
      – by watching logs from proxy servers
      – by using logs if users are using the search engine toolbar

Now, for the indexing (the part where the keywords are extracted), there is 2 main places:
      – the page itself
      – the pages that are linking to this page

In the page itself, many things may be used:
      – the title of the page
      – the meta fields (keywords, content, etc.)
      – the body of the page (all keywords, in forms, etc.)

      In other pages:
      – the text that has been used to link to the page (that’s the big thing that Google has introduced in the search engine market with their page rank)

Gave you some links to learn more, don’t be shy to use search engines to learn more on them!

How Do I Make My Headings Actually Look Single Spaced In Word? I’m writing a paper for class and the heading is supposed to be single spaced while the rest of the document is double spaced. Even when I highlight the heading and edit the paragraph so that it says it’s single spaced, it still looks double spaced. I tried making it less than single spaced (like .6) but that doesn’t make much of a difference except it cuts off the tops of all the words.

The only way I can make it look single spaced is by pressing the tab key a bunch of times to use up the rest of the space in the line and then the following line will look single spaced. I would like it to look this way without me having to press the tab key a bunch of times to take up space on the line, I should be able to just press the enter key and have it go down to the next line and have it look single spaced.

How do I do this? I use a Mac and have Microsoft Word for Mac but I doubt it’s much different than on a Windows.

Here’s an example of what I want my heading to look like:

    Jane Doe
    Health 150
    Fall 2010
    Paper #3

and what it ends up looking like, even though it claims it’s in single spaced mode.

    Jane Doe

    Health 150

    Fall 2010

    Paper #3

I also tried editing it so that it was double spaced to see what it looked like and it made the spaced in between each lines even larger. The rest of my paper is double spaced and looks like it should, double spaced, but the space between the lines looks the same as my supposedly single spaced heading, which isn’t actually single spaced.

Hope that isn’t too confusing, I need help, I’m getting graded down for having “too big of headings” on my last papers. Please read all that I wrote, I don’t want to hear that I should highlight the paragraph, right click and edit it to say single spaced because I’ve already done that.

I suspect you’re putting in four individual paragraphs (ended with Enter keystrokes) and are getting After paragraph spacing. Try this (this is for Windows):

      1. Select the Paragraphs so affected.
      2. Right-click in the selection and select Paragraph.
      3. Set the After combo box to zero (0).
      4. Click OK.

      Hope that helps.

I can help you by suggesting several paragraph headings for a paper on Preserving and Promotion the Cultural Heritage of Cambodia. These sentences are:

      ts mandate is to:
      • study threats to cultural heritage, including the illicit trade in antiquities, the looting of archaeological sites, and loss of historic architecture, among others.

      1) Educate the public on the artistic, informational, historical, cultural, and economic importance of heritage resources in Cambodia,

      2) Increase access to and awareness of national and international law affecting cultural property, while working with the proper authorities to implement, enforce, and improve Cambodia.

      3) Promote responsible tourism that furthers cultural and economic development and encourage the tourism industry to support the arts, culture, heritage and development in Cambodia.

      4) Foster communication between relevant governmental and intergovernmental agencies, nongovernmental organizations, academic institutions, and individuals in Cambodia.

      5) Conclusions.
