Adwords

Have you been getting good results from your search engine optimization campaign? If you feel like you need to improve your methods, take a few minutes to read the following article for some useful tips.

Anchor Text

Make sure the methods you use are up to date. Search engines review their algorithms regularly and webmasters have to adapt. If you notice that your website is not ranking as high as it used to in search results, it might be time to upgrade your campaign. Stay up to date with new SEO strategies by subscribing to different newsletters or blogs on this topic. >

Select your keywords after doing some research. Use a visitor counter to get an idea of which keywords your visitors look up to find your content. Get an account on Google AdWords to compare search volume for different keyword phrases. Select keywords used by the visitors you want to target rather than keywords you would use to talk about your topic. Technical words might not make good keywords if your average customer does not use these terms.

Engine

Keywords are used to describe your content but you should be careful with your keyword density. Your keyword phrases should not represent more than 5% of your content on any given pages. Place your keywords where they will be noticed and efficiently describe your content. You should mostly use keywords in HTML tags such as alt tags, title tags, meta tags and anchor texts.

Engine Optimization Campaign

Structure your site in a logical way. You should have different pages for all your subtopic and create many links to connect all your pages. Ideally, a search engine spider should be able to locate all your pages quickly thanks to an efficient network of links. Place your links in visible places and create some site-wide links for your most important pages. Add an XML sitemap on your server to help search engine spiders.

Google

Build some back-links to get more traffic. Your pages will rank higher in search results if there are many quality webpages with links to your content. You can create some quality back-links by writing excellent articles and contacting different webmasters to ask if they would like to feature your content or exchange links. Use article directories, online encyclopedias and message boards to create new back-links regularly.

Optimization Purposes

Find a way to measure the impact of your search engine optimization strategies. Check the ranking of your pages in search results and use a visitor counter to find out which back-links bring you the most traffic. If you are disappointed with the results of your campaign, look for new strategies you can implement. Keeping track of your results is a good way to find out which strategies are the most successful so you can focus your resources on these techniques.

Search

Use these different SEO strategies to develop an efficient campaign. You should get positive results if you take the time to learn more about SEO and develop a campaign that is up to date and adapted to your audience.

Write content keeping your customer in mind, provide good information which is very helpful to your visitors.

Search Engine spider indexes web pages and when the visitors type a keyword they search their database and show results which they think is relevant to the visitors query.

      Hi

Most major search engines will find your website naturally, however it is possible to manually submit to search engines (here’s Googles for example – http://www.google.co.uk/submit_content.html) There are tools available to submit sites to multiple search engines but this isn’t something that is recommended.

The description under the link in the serps is called a meta description. This can be changed by editing the More details here -http://searchenginewatch.com/article/2067564/How-To-Use-HTML-Meta-Tags

I think your visited sites are showing as the first result in Google because you are logged into a Google account? You can simply log out to prevent this or go to the following link – https://history.google.com/history and make sure “Web History is off” you may also need to go to search settings and turn off personal results. This will then show the true search results.

      Hope this helps!

Does A Search Engine Spider…? – Download the text of web pages for a search engine

    or

    – store all information for the search engine?

When a search engine crawls a page it checks for relevancy between the meta tags in the head of the page, and it’s connection to actual text within that same page. It also checks the links to other pages and crawls them for the same information.
If you have a meta tag that defines the page, and then no text to match that tag, it will not keep that information due to the lack of relevancy. Meta tags and keywords can be a bit confusing, but they are exactly what the search ingines use when crawling a site. The only info stored by the search engine is the Title and Description as well as the link to how to get to that site. Hope this helps

Search engine optimization (SEO also search optimization) is the process of editing and organizing the content on a webpage or across a website to increase its potential relevance to specific keywords on specific search engines and importantly ensuring that external links to the site are correctly titled and in abundance. This is done with the aim of achieving a higher organic search listing and thus increasing the volume of targeted traffic from search engines.

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of affecting the visibility of a website or a web page in a search engine’s “natural” or un-paid (“organic”) search results.[jargon] In general, the earlier (or higher ranked on the search results page), and more frequently a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine’s users. SEO may target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, video search, academic search,[1] news search and industry-specific vertical search engines.
As an Internet marketing strategy, SEO considers how search engines work, what people search for, the actual search terms or keywords typed into search engines and which search engines are preferred by their targeted audience. Optimizing a website may involve editing its content, HTML and associated coding to both increase its relevance to specific keywords and to remove barriers to the indexing activities of search engines. Promoting a site to increase the number of backlinks, or inbound links, is another SEO tactic.

Guerilla Marketing & Search Engines? I started a design company specializing in wedding invites, baby announcements, and corporate design. My website is up (www.milesquaredesign.com) but it’s really not registering with yahoo or google. I have also put up some flyers in town and I also found some free internet advertising (like craigslist). I need more ideas to get the word out for my company that are cheap or free! All ideas welcome!!!

You need to optimize your site so the search engine spiders can read the content. Just from a first glance, I noticed that your entire site is build of images…you have no text or copy. This is a HUGE mistake. Spiders only pick up copy so they are not reading your site at all. You definitely need copy on your homepage, this is the first page a spider will go to.

There are so many more ways to optimize your website. I can’t explain them all here, and usually you need to pay someone to do this type of analysis. You can do it yourself though. Just read up on search engine optimization. This website is very helpful: http://searchenginewatch.com/.

Hopefully you own the rights to the code so you have the option of optimizing.

Also, if you have a marketing budget, spend money doing paid search. An integrated paid and organic search plan will bring you the best results. You don’t have to spend a lot with google or yahoo. Just do your research.

There are so many different ways to advertise that are effective and cheap, you just need to research and be creative.

But your website is very cool and your work is great. Good luck!

ANy Tips For Search Engine Optimization? Does meta data matter for search results in search engines?
where is the best place to put meta data?

What the best structure for metadata?

ANy tips for search engine optimization?

    View Comment
    1. Reply

Meta data is only used by search engine spiders. It appears above the HTML code that forms the underpinnings of your site’s presentation layer.

Meta data includes such things as your site’s name, URL and key word tag. Once the most important factor in search engine results, keyword tags in meta data don’t have the weight they once did.

      SEO tips:

      1. submit your site map to Google and Yahoo. This provides spiders with a set of directions and “personal” invitation.

      2. Add HTML title tags to each page. Each tag becomes a Google listing, thus providing many more site access points. That’s why, if I search “Harry Potter” on Google, one listing on the first search engine results page (SERPs) will be for Amazon. If I click on it, I’m taken directly to the Harry Potter page rather than coming through Amazon’s front door.

      3. Even though meta data stays the same from site page to site page, add it to every page. SE bots are none-too-bright.

      4. Avoid keyword stuffing. 2-3% is good. Anything over 5% starts to sound like gibberish.

      5. Use embedded text links in the main texts of your site. Search engine spiders follow links, so if you give them a lot of links within your site, spiders stay longer, index more and provide a more accurate picture of your site.

      6. Use your HTML description tag to appeal to humans, not spiders. The description tag content appears directly under the blue link for your site on SERPs.

      7. Avoid anything that even hints at black hat tactics, i.e. no invisible text, title tags match page data, keyword density of less than 5% in main text; 50% in headers.

      8. Place keywords in headlines, underlined, bolded or italic text.

      9. Focus on your top five keywords and phrases at first. Then, gradually expand your list.

      10. Finally, visit Google’s webmaster central. This search engine runs the web world so you might as well do exactly what the Googlistas want, and they tell you what’s legal (and good) and what isn’t regarding SEO.

      Good luck with your site,

What Is Search Engine Optimization And Whats It Benefits ? How to do search engine optimization for a blog ?

    View Comment

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the visibility of a website or a web page in search engines via the “natural” or un-paid (“organic” or “algorithmic”) search results. In general, the earlier (or higher ranked on the search results page), and more frequently a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine’s users. SEO may target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, video search, academic search, news search and industry-specific vertical search engines.

As an Internet marketing strategy, SEO considers how search engines work, what people search for, the actual search terms or keywords typed into search engines and which search engines are preferred by their targeted audience. Optimizing a website may involve editing its content and HTML and associated coding to both increase its relevance to specific keywords and to remove barriers to the indexing activities of search engines. Promoting a site to increase the number of backlinks, or inbound links, is another SEO tactic.

The acronym “SEOs” can refer to “search engine optimizers,” a term adopted by an industry of consultants who carry out optimization projects on behalf of clients, and by employees who perform SEO services in-house. Search engine optimizers may offer SEO as a stand-alone service or as a part of a broader marketing campaign. Because effective SEO may require changes to the HTML source code of a site and site content, SEO tactics may be incorporated into website development and design. The term “search engine friendly” may be used to describe website designs, menus, content management systems, images, videos, shopping carts, and other elements that have been optimized for the purpose of search engine exposure.

Blogging software is really a simple Content Management System (CMS) that easily adds new pages and integrates them into your site’s navigational structure and linkage.

Blogs and blog posts are naturally search engine friendly because they are text-rich, link-rich, frequently-updated webpages that use stylesheets or CSS, and have very little extraneous HTML.

Optimizing a blog is very similar to optimizing a website, and optimizing a blog post similar to optimizing a web page.

But depending on the blogging service or software you use, the results may look somewhat different.

If you follow some simple rules for search engine optimization, your blog can rank much higher than static website pages in the search engine results pages.

Here are the most important rules to follow to get your posts listed for keywords of your choice.

      1. Use your primary keyword in your blog domain
      2. Use your primary key phrase in your blog header tags and the title of your posts
      3. Use your secondary keywords in the body of your post
      4. Use your keywords in the anchor text of links
      5. Make sure search engines can spider your blog easily
      6. Get backlinks from other blogs or websites

Cached Pages On Search Engines Question? I participate on a message board. Recently, a very troubled person came to the board and became obsessed with me. They have finally gotten to the point they’re sending me threatening emails. I have begun deleting all my posts on that site (there’s years worth) just so they can’t find *any* personal info about me on them. I’ve been careful, but who knows what I let slip? Someone pointed out though that cached pages on search engines will show the original page. Is there *anything* I can do about that?

Yes the cached page with search engine will show the original page until it is again visited by the search engine spider, re-indexed and cached again.
