Website Search Engine – Things to Consider

Website Search Engine - Things to Consider

Key issues regarding are revealed in this article, and there is even a list of important things to watch out for. Trying to make decision with only half the information can end up being quite costly. I hope you will find this article as helpful to you as it was for me.

What You Should Keep In Mind When You Are Working On SEO

Anchor Text

If you are running a business on the Internet, you are probably aware that search engine optimization is very important to the success of your web business. A website that is well-optimized gets more web traffic because it is positioned highly in search results. Statistics have shown that web users usually just look at the first couple of pages of search results for information. Any results further down than that tend not to have enough relevance for the topic searched. That is why you should make sure that you understand SEO well and be able to implement that on your website. This article will provide you with some tips on how you can do that.

Engine

In order to work toward improving your site rank, you first have to know where you rank. Do a search on some keywords that you think are very relevant to your website. Look at the search results that come back, and locate your website. If you have not optimized your website, there is a good chance that you will not see your website listed on the first few pages of results. After you learn a bit about SEO and implement your strategy on your website, wait a few weeks, then do the same search experiment again. If SEO was done properly, you should see some improvement in your site rank. >

In SEO, the use of keywords in your content is the key. First, you have to know what keywords to use. Think about what terms people would type into a search engine if they want to find the type of information that you provide. These terms are your keywords. When search engine bots crawl through the web to index content, they use a complex formula to weigh keywords and rank pages. More weight is put in areas in a webpage like the title and description meta tags and the paragraph header tags. So, keywords that are used in these weighted areas mean they have high relevance to the website.

Google

Search engine crawlers also look at how your pages link to each other to determine relevance. A site map would help because it clearly lays out the relationship among your pages.

Keyword Density

Flash content is not good for SEO because there is no relevant text content on the Flash object. Flash is purely for visual design and not for SEO. The text that you see in Flash is really not created by HTML code. The text is part of the Flash object. Search engine crawlers cannot get to the text inside the Flash object. So even though the text can be seen by human eyes, it is invisible to the crawlers.

Keyword Phrases

Establishing a reciprocal link relationship with another high-quality website can boost your SEO. But do make sure that your link partner is a good website. If it has poor content, its poor ranking can drag you down as well if you have a link relationship with it.

How Long Does It Takes To Google Or Any Search Engine To Rank A Website? Hello friends, if a website is launched fresh, How long does it takes to google or any search engine to rank a website in top 10?
This is after submitting the site to bookmarking sites, search engines, creating direct links etc….

To get ranked to the very top 10 sites? That could take many months, to even years. And page rank is not the only consideration that places websites at the top.

Getting to the top depends on many other factors like the popularity of your website; quality backlinks from others, and not links from link farms, and having fresh content, not duplicated content or from stories passed around the internet.

Often new websites are placed into a sand trap of sorts at least until the first year. But not always. This is largely because many spammers create overnight websites then disappear after they get shut-down. In short, a website that’s been around for awhile gains status.

Lastly, make sure your website and every page is search engine friendly. Give appropriate titles and keywords for each of your web pages. Think of each web page that you have as being the main landing page for your site.

      Good Luck!

The Google search engine is a very closely guarded secret that many SEO experts have been trying to unpick for years through analytics and split tests. They say we have only cracked a very small area of it.

The components of a search engine are not that complex. Just a web-crawler that gathers all the content and stores it on a server. Then you will need another server that returns this data based on the search query. How your search engine deals with a query depends on your algorithm. This algorithm is the most important aspect of a search engine and it could take years to fine tune it so that your search results are accurate, fast and always very relevant to the query. Google employ 100’s of the worlds best computer science geniuses and they are constantly working on their algorithm this is why SEO will never crack google and they will always be chasing their tails.

      Hope this helped you.

The reason you appear in meta search engines and not in the top search engines has to do with visibility, or a lack thereof. Your meta tags and title tags are probably doing just fine if your positioned well in the search engines that use those fields as the defining criteria.

The search engines you should care about are Google (with a 64% marketshare), Yahoo! (with 20%), and MSN (with 10%). Ask has less than a 4% share, followed by the all the rest.

The formula for ranking, simply put, is:

Quality, Traffic-Driving Content + Relevant Inbound Links = High Positioning

Quality Content includes have titles that are more appealing in the search engine results pages, increasing your CTR. It also means having engaging content (like video) to maintain a low bounce rate. It doesn’t hurt to follow the 10 steps at http://www.top10seotips.com to improve the way web crawlers index and categorize content either.

Relevant inbound links (IBLs) should come from popular websites on pages that relate to your product or service. A link from a farming page to a page about dating will have less value than a link from a dating article. A link from a site with little traffic will have less value than a link from a site with plenty of traffic.

      Good Luck!

Search engines are complex piece of software. To be able to know about a page, you’re right, it has to discover it. This can be done in many ways:
      – see a link from another page
      – by watching logs from proxy servers
      – by using logs if users are using the search engine toolbar

Now, for the indexing (the part where the keywords are extracted), there is 2 main places:
      – the page itself
      – the pages that are linking to this page

In the page itself, many things may be used:
      – the title of the page
      – the meta fields (keywords, content, etc.)
      – the body of the page (all keywords, in forms, etc.)

      In other pages:
      – the text that has been used to link to the page (that’s the big thing that Google has introduced in the search engine market with their page rank)

Gave you some links to learn more, don’t be shy to use search engines to learn more on them!

A search engine is an information retrieval system designed to help find information stored on a computer system. Search engines help to minimize the time required to find information and the amount of information which must be consulted, akin to other techniques for managing information overload.

The most popular form of a search engine is a Web search engine which searches for information on the public World Wide Web. eg: google.com, search.yahoo.com, live.com etc.

There are mainly 3 types of Web search engine:
1.Simple web search engines (eg: google etc. as above)
      2.Meta search engines (eg: dogpile.com, mamma.com etc.)
      3.Multi search engines (eg: twingine.com, multi-search-engine.com, bjorgul.com, crispyweb.com etc.)

Meta and Multi search engines combine results from one oor more simple web search engines and help us compare results.

How Can I Delete Search Results History? The search bar keeps the search results history and i’d like to remove them from the search bar on search engine sites like Yahoo and others. It’s probably wasy but i can’t seem to figure it out. Can anybody help?

This works if you have Internet Explorer as your browser.
The record of search history which appears in the search box on Yahoo and Google pages is actually a feature controlled by your browser.

      * At the top of your screen click Tools, Internet Options, Content tab, under Personal information, click the AutoComplete box, on the AutoComplete Settings window click the Clear Forms box to delete your current history, or you can uncheck the Forms box to permanently stop the generation of the search history, click OK.

Another option that works with any browser:
      * Here is another way if you just want to clear the searches (and don’t want to stop the generation of the search history) from the search box menu on Yahoo or Google pages, double click the search box, this will make a menu drop down with your searches, put your cursor on what you want to delete to highlight it, and hit the delete button on your keyboard. If you want to delete everything just hold the delete button down until everything is deleted.

      * To clear searches on Yahoo Toolbar, click the pencil icon beside the search box, click Clear Recent Searches. If you want to stop saving recent searches, click Toolbar Options and uncheck “Enable Search History”, or check “Auto-clear Search History when quitting IE” to clear history when you close your Internet connection.

      * To clear searches on Google toolbar, click “Google” on the left of the search box, click Clear Search History. To stop saving searches click options, click search tab and check or uncheck to configure your search box.

      * To clear history of sites you have visited on Internet Explorer 6 address bar, click Tools, Internet Options, under General tab click Clear History, you can also set the number of days to keep pages in history, click Apply and then click OK. You may also want to click the Content tab and click Auto Complete and check or uncheck your Auto Complete settings to your preference.

      * To clear history of sites you have visited on Internet Explorer 7, go to Tools, Internet Options, General tab, under Browsing history you have the option to delete everything all at once with just one click, click Delete, a menu will pop up, click Delete all to clear everything, or choose what you want to delete, to stop saving history, under Browsing history click Settings and under History set Days to keep pages in history to 0, click OK.

What Are The Top Search Engines To Give You Viruses? What are some of the top search engines that are most likely to give you a virus?
What are some of the safest search engines?

    View Comment
    1. Reply

It’s not the Search Engine, more than it is the site that you pick.

Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc. do not have control on which sites are viral and safe, in all reality, it’s the money the company pays to get their site at the top of the list.

If the site is infected, or is in means of giving you a virus, the site is probably not on the 1st or 2nd page, technically.

When you search something, the company pays millions to get their site on the first and second page of the search results, and if the site is only there to infect your computer, they will not spend that much money to get it up there. Since they aren’t making money, and if they do, it’s not enough to put it in the top results…

I hope this helps! Just be cautious.

Search engine optimization is optimizing your website for better indexing on the search engines (Google, yahoo, live etc).

How do you do that is –
      1. Add relevant content to your site.
      2. Use correct keywords and Metatags in your html (Search engine crawlers browse through these)
      3. Use quallity backlinks from related high quality sites.

Then your website is optimized and probably willl appear in top of test results beating the hell of other sites over there in internet. Example of optimized site: http://videsiblog.blogspot.com

About Search Engines? Just curious as what if you found something
about yourself on the search engines that
wasn’t correct? For example, what if you
wrote something nice in just one sentence and
then you see you have something someone
else wrote that wasn’t good with yours?
Can they control what is on these search
    engines? Thanks Alot.
I was told by a friend that a computer
actually does it but you can ask the
people in charge of the search engine
to remove it and they usually do.
I guess you should watch what other
people write ahead of you before
you post anything. I wanted other
    opinions too. Thanks.

A search engine uses ‘tags’ (the words you put in when you are making the search) and pulls every entry they are ‘connected to’ that has those tags in them. I’ve done a search on my name and get many different things on many different people. My husband is a web developer, and when he makes a website, he’ll ‘tag’ it so that it comes up in the top five of many different engines. If you did a search and got something ‘negative’ when the only words you used were your first and last name, you could be the victim of ‘cyber-bullying’ or it could simply be just a reference to someone with the same name as you. Read it carefully, and if you feel that the negative reference is to you and is wrong, then call the state agency that takes care of hacking charges, and report it.
