Rats

Rats

The aftermath of the election has been enlightening, to say the least.

Basically, the big population centers re-elected Obama. Taken to the extreme – the people who “live like rats” re-elected him.

Go figure.

If you look at a map of the electorate by county (the smallest division I’ve seen to date), most of the country is bright red (Romney). Every map that I’ve seen (like in this great video from Wired.com)

shows the discrepancy in the vote. It makes a certain amount of sense, actually – those areas where people are packed in like sardines have always relied on “guvment” to keep their perverse lifestyle from falling apart at the seams.

Jut like rats in a cage.

Benghazi Gate

And now, much to my chagrin, all this crap is coming out that, if revealed prior to the election, could have affected the outcome (hmmm, wonder why that is). From Eric Holder (the anti-Labrador) holding back info about Petraeus, to Petraeus’ denial of the so-called “stand-down” order, to a new rumor I heard today about missing arms that puts “Fast and Furious” to shame. I’m telling ya, this administration is as corrupt as it gets.

And, even better…Obama is thinking about that ultra-rich “bastid” John Kerrey for Secretary of Defense.

What I’m having a hard time understanding – all of the polls out now seem to indicate a strong conservative opinion of the future (extend tax cuts, more drilling, etc). So, if so many people apparently approve of the general Republican agenda, then WHY did they vote Obama back into office?

Something is amiss, and I can’t quite seem to put a finger on it…

Why Did The Democrats And Bill Clinton Make The War In Iraq Legal? Regime change in Iraq has been official US policy since 1998:

The Iraq Liberation Act of 1998 (sponsored by Bob Kerrey, John McCain, and Joseph Lieberman, and signed into law by President Clinton) states:

“It should be the policy of the United States to support efforts to remove the regime headed by Saddam Hussein from power in Iraq and to promote the emergence of a democratic government to replace that regime.”

    Iraq Liberation Act of 1998
    105th Congress, 2nd Session

Is True That The Guns And Ammo Used In The Aurora Shooting Were Legally Purchased From Eric Holder? The guns James Holmes used were supposedly purchased from Eric Holder by James Homes using a fake ID. Does anyone know if this is true?

How Would An Assault Weapons Ban Ever Work With Obama In Office And Eric Holder As AG? We all know Obama refuses to enforce immigration laws and border security. And it has been proven Eric Holder gave thousands of assault weapons to Mexican drug cartels.

So how would an assault weapons ban work when the cartels could just get more guns from Eric Holder then come across Obamas open border and sell them here on the black market?

Has anyone considered on the left what an assault weapon actually is in a court of law???

Funny if this goes through–then Obama and Holder are forced to leave the country in exile. Because assault weapons can be minds and people too. Obama being most deadly. He’s assaulted far more than I ever have. And I got to use 155mm self propelled howitzers!

OK, that was smart alecky. In truth? It does nothing about the real sources of crime guns. Illegal street dealers and corrupt FFL dealers.

Rat Advice? My First Rat!? My two mice recently died from old age, and I was thinking of getting a rat.
I just bought a rat cage because I was going to transfer my mice into it, but they died before it arrived to my house ?

It’s massive though, and I have toys big enough for rats.

But what are the major differences I need to know about rats and mice ?
    Health problems?
Or are they practically the same as mice?

I ONLY WANT ONE RAT AS WELL.
Are they social? Do they need a buddy? Because I will happily buy them a friend, but I would prefer one rat if possible.
I will be able to play with them on weekends only… though

You NEED another rat. Rats are extremely social. They need some one to share with, sleep with, cuddle with, and play with. Rats are defiantly bigger. But, they need more affection from humans than mice. So, that worries me about you only being able to play with them on weekends. They do need to be let out of their cage at least 1 – 2 hours a day for stimulation and so they dont get bored. If your rat is bored then thats actually bad for their health. It sounds stupid but its for real. Their diet is way different. You cant feed them the rat/mouse seed diet. They will just pick through it for their favorites. I recommend a lab block meal. But, dont forget to feed them fresh fruits and veggies. Rats can also eat a lot of the same stuff we do. Such as cooked meat. I have lab blocks available for them 24/7. In the morning I give them small bowl of yogurt and one piece of fruit. At night they have a small portion of what ever im having. If it isnt healthy I just give then veggies or cereal. I have to say mice do have a stronger odor to them then rats. Rats seem to be more playful and want to play with you or just be around you no matter where you are. Hope this helps.

Did You Know And Is It Immoral That John McCain Prevented The Return Of POWs By Hiding Their Existence? This is not the allegation of political zealots, but a carefully documented written expose by not just anyone, but by a Pulitzer Prize Winning author, Sydney H. Schanberg.

More information can be found at:

    http://www.nationinstitute.org/p/schanberg09182008pt1

Sydney H. Schanberg was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for international reporting “at great risk.” He is also the recipient of many other awards – including two George Polk awards, two Overseas Press Club awards and the Sigma Delta Chi prize for distinguished journalism.

How would you feel if you were family members of those POWs?

Are you willing and open to an open investigation of those claims? Do you believe that the POW families deserve that investigation?

What if it is proven true and the POW’s were executed eventually because they became more of a liability than a help?

The alleged number is around 1250 soldiers.
Note: A friend who was a Green Beret in Vietnam told people back in the early 80’s that soldiers had been left behind.

What if we waited until after the elections?
I’m saying let’s not be afraid to find out the truth. I think that the families of those POWs deserve nothing less. Read the article and don’t be afraid to be open to the light of day shining on the facts whatever they may be.

John McCain’s courage as a POW has been well publicized. What has not been publicized, but hidden from view is the negotiations for reparations and the possibly 1200 plus soldiers held as bargaining chips.

I’m willing to wait until after the election for the TRUTH, whatever it might be.

      Certainly an “interesting” article.

HOWEVER, one can NOT honestly draw the conclusion that Senator McCain is actually the RESPONSIBLE party for the MIA’s not being returned. McCain’s involvement on the POW/MIA Committee begins at the END of 1991, 16 years after the US left Vietnam, and 18 years after Hanoi released McCain and the other acknowledged POW’s.

In his article, Mr. Schanberg CLEARLY states that the government in Hanoi withheld the names of roughly 1,250 prisoners (in CLEAR violation of The Geneva Accords, of which Vietnam WAS a signatory) not only at the TIME of the Paris Negotiations, BUT for the following 20 years !!

MOST of the US Government information regarding POW’s was withheld at the TIME (70’s & 80’s) because it was classified (duh), because it would reveal means and methods.

The Senate Select Committee on POW/MIA Affairs mentioned in Mr Schanberg’s article pointedly mentions Sentator McCain and berates the committee’s failure to do anything, yet fails to mention the other members (even split Dem / Rep) :
      John Kerry – Democrat (Chairman)
      Bob Smith – Republican
      Bob Kerrey – Democrat
      Chuck Robb – Democrat
      Hank Brown – Republican
      Chuck Grassley – Republican
      Nancy Landon Kassebaum – Republican
      Herb Kohl – Democrat
      Tom Daschle – Democrat
      Harry Reid – Democrat
      Jesse Helms – Republican

Senator Bob Kerrey, THEN a candidate for the Presidential nomination for the 1992 Democratic Party said of the Committee – “Nobody wanted to be on that damn committee. It was an absolute loser. Everyone knew that the POW stories were fabrications, but no one wanted to offend the vet community.”

Senator John Kerry, later, THE Democratic Party canditate for the Presidency is ALSO quoted in Mr Schanberg’s essay – “We wanted to appear to be probing the prisoner issue energetically, but in fact, we never rocked official Washington’s boat, nor did we lay open the 20 years of secrecy and untruths.”

The Committee’s final report – ” While the Committee has some evidence suggesting the possibility a POW may have survived to the present, and while some information remains yet to be investigated, there is, at this time, no compelling evidence that proves that any American remains alive in captivity in Southeast Asia.”

JUST FYI, it was President William J. Clinton who opened and normalized relations with The Peoples Communist Republic of Vietnam in 1994… he had EIGHT years to push the issue, why didn’t HE ??

As a former US Naval Aircrewman flying combat and CSAR missions during Operation Praying Mantis, Desert Shield / Storm, Somalia, and Kosovo, I am VERY sympathetic to the families of the POW/MIA’s… however, YOUR and Mr. Shanberg’s attempt to lay this issue at the feet of Senator McCain TWELVE years after the Committee issued it’s final report is outright partisan politics.

I heard it was Mossad and the US. Govt. The 9/11 commissioners don’t believe the official story either. Numerous other politicians, judges, legal scholars, and attorneys also question at least some aspects of the government's version of 9/11.

o The 9/11 Commission's co-chairs said that the 9/11 Commissioners knew that military officials misrepresented the facts to the Commission, and the Commission considered recommending criminal charges for such false statements.

o 9/11 Commission co-chair Lee Hamilton says "I don't believe for a minute we got everything right", that the Commission was set up to fail, that people should keep asking questions about 9/11, and that the 9/11 debate should continue

o 9/11 Commissioner Timothy Roemer said "We were extremely frustrated with the false statements we were getting"

o 9/11 Commissioner Max Cleland resigned from the Commission, stating: "It is a national scandal"; "This investigation is now compromised"; and "One of these days we will have to get the full story because the 9-11 issue is so important to America. But this White House wants to cover it up"
o 9/11 Commissioner Bob Kerrey said that "There are ample reasons to suspect that there may be some alternative to what we outlined in our version . . . We didn't have access . . . ." He also said that the investigation depended too heavily on the accounts of Al Qaeda detainees who were physically coerced into talking

o And the Senior Counsel to the 9/11 Commission (John Farmer) - who led the 9/11 staff's inquiry - recently said "At some level of the government, at some point in time...there was an agreement not to tell the truth about what happened". He also said "I was shocked at how different the truth was from the way it was described .... The tapes told a radically different story from what had been told to us and the public for two years.... This is not spin. This is not true." And he said: "It's almost a culture of concealment, for lack of a better word. There were interviews made at the FAA's New York center the night of 9/11 and those tapes were destroyed. The CIA tapes of the interrogations were destroyed. The story of 9/11 itself, to put it mildly, was distorted and was completely different from the way things happened".

What Has Eric Holder Done That Is Anti-gun? I’m scratching my head over the whole controversy. I was surprised when some protestors told a reporter that they were protesting because Eric Holder is anti-gun. What has he or the Obama administration done that is anti-gun?
Fast and Furious started under the Bush administration, so how’s it a Obama conspiracy? Some of the documents the Obama administration are claiming executive privalege on were extensions of Bush claims. Seems like if anyone is covering for anything here it’s the Obama admin covering for Bush / continuing to not investigate and prosecute crimes by the previous administration. Obama has continued and expanded many of Bush’s policies and use of executive power.

Eric Holder has shown absolutely no sign that he is anti-gun, and neither has President Obama. I say this as a Second Amendment supporter and gun owner myself. You are correct that not only did it start under Bush, but it was the third such program over which Bush presided.

Gun privileges have expanded under President Obama, and the only one to ever take away guns in the history of this country was Republican Dick Cheney ordering guns taken away from the citizens of New Orleans after the Katrina flood.
      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criticism_of_government_response_to_Hurricane_Katrina#Confiscation_of_firearms

Holder has appeared before Congress nine times and has released over 7,600 pages of documents. The only thing he hasn’t released is that which he may not release, by law. This is nothing more than the Republicans trying to whip up their pro-gun base to vote against Obama, and the attempt to get rid of Eric Holder because he’s holding their feet to the fire on their attempts to suppress voting.

      # Former Senator Fred Thompson – did not serve.
      # Senator John McCain – McCain’s naval honors include the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Legion of Merit, Purple Heart and Distinguished Flying Cross. Why did the Bush campaign smear him so in 2000? At least Senators Cleland (D-GA), Kerry (D-MA), Kerrey (D-NE), Robb (D-VA) and Hagel (R-NE) defended him.

      # GW Bush – decided that a six-year Nat’l Guard commitment really means four years. Still says that he’s “been to war.” Huh?
      # VP Cheney – several deferments (1, 2), the last by marriage (in his own words, “had other priorities than military service”) (1)
      # Former Att’y Gen. John Ashcroft – did not serve (1, 2); received seven deferment to teach business ed at SW Missouri State
      # Jeb Bush, Florida Governor – did not serve. (1)
      # Karl Rove – avoided the draft, did not serve (1), too busy being a Republican.
      # Former Speaker Newt Gingrich – avoided the draft, did not serve (1, 2)
      # Former President Ronald Reagan – due to poor eyesight, served in a noncombat role making movies for the Army in southern California during WWII. He later seems to have confused his role as an actor playing a tail gunner with the real thing.
      # “B-1” Bob Dornan – avoided Korean War combat duty by enrolling in college acting classes (Orange County Weekly article). Enlisted only after the fighting was over in Korea.
      # Phil Gramm – avoided the draft, did not serve, four (?) student deferments
