Ooops. Missed it. Well here goes.

The color blue. If youre camping or picnicking, I think blue denims are not the best option for wear (or BSU gear:-RRB-).
Chasing the dream.
Most likely best understood for the Vacation movies and his stint on Saturday Night Live, Chevy Chase was an early drummer for the rock group Steely Dan.
A Name is Just a Name. Or is it?
Apparently, a couple U.S. products have had problems being offered in Mexico since of how they were named. The very first was the Chevy Nova – according to legend “no va” can be actually equated as “no go” in Spanish. Snopes.com calls this legend false, but it still gets a great deal of press.
Another story is about the soft drink Fresca. Allegedly, fresca is slang in Mexico for “lesbian” (although “fresh old woman” may be a more actual translation).
Another report is about “Siri”, the software/voice for the iPhone. Obviously in Japanese it can be translated as “ass” or “rump”.
Have Another Cup?
, if you wanted to devote suicide by consuming coffee (coffeecide?), it would take about 100 cups to reach the deadly does for caffeine of 10 grams.
Addicted to Junk.
The Frito-Lay corporation spends $30 million per year on chemists, psychologists and researchers to find the very best ways to get customers addicted to their products. A gadget that simulates chewing (for that “perfect crunch”) costs $40,000.

How Is Mexico Affected By The Fighting Between Israel And Palistine? I’m having trouble finding information on Mexico for this topic. How is Mexico directly or indirectly affected by the battle of land between Israel and Palestine and how does it concern mexico?
View CommentMexico and Israel have had diplomatic relations since January 1950. Throughout the years, they have maintained close relations with each other. In 2000, a free trade agreement was signed between the two nations. Mexico has also purchased arms from Israel and it’s one of Israel’s closest allies in North America.

View CommentWhat Is A Interesting Current Event Taking Place In Mexico That Connects Back To Early Spanish Conquest? In other words, what social issues of today in Mexico could be traced back to the social issues of mexico in the 1500’s. (social organization etc)
thanks
View CommentTough question. What comes to my mind is that the Spanish conquistadores came into a land with a highly developed civilization, completely destroyed that civilization, their government, culture, and religion. They forced the people tp give up their culture, language and religion. They created a country of a few rich land owners and millions of poor people. Mexico just became independent of Spain 200 years ago.and still suffers the “growing pains” of becoming an independent nation and correcting the wrongs of the past. The vast gulf between rich and poor is still present in many ways. The corrupt Napoleonic “justice” system is still used. Political parties and holders of public office are often controlled by the wealthy descendants of the rich land owners of the past.

View CommentTips About Becoming A Police Officer? I have decided that out of high school I want to chase my dreams of becoming a police officer and hopefully be accepted into SWAT. Any old timers willing to help out a young confused lad? I am planning a 4 year college with majors in Criminal Justice. Any tips are helpful.
View CommentGood for you, but don’t be disappointed that you won’t be on SWAT right out of the academy.
View CommentKeep in shape, keep your nose clean are the standard responses.
I always like to add that when you go for the interview it never hurts to have “more” than just “normal” qualifications. By this I mean anything extra that will work to your favor of being chosen out of the applicants. Things like knowing how to SCUBA dive,(of course I’m going to say that), having a pilot’s license, already having a D/L that is at the level required, any community volunteer positions you’ve had, you may want to have some prior experience working with kids (but do keep in mind we’re not babysitters), first aid/CPR, Red Cross or County lifeguard certificates. All of these things make a difference when applying, as does knowing a second language.
Good Luck, and welcome aboard.
Interpretation Of A Chasing Dream? I had a dream the other night that I was being chased. It was pretty basic, except my pursuer wasn’t exactly threatening. He was someone I didn’t know, but he only looked to be a year older then me. He didn’t have a weapon, he didn’t even look strong, but I still decided to run from him. And every time he would always come so close to catching me, but for some reason right before he did I’d go back to the beginning of the chase.
Oh, also, once I started running I’d always find a bike and start riding it, but that never made me seem any faster.
I just want to know what this means, please no nasty comments. 🙂
View CommentWhat are you worrying about in the back of your mind? Chasing dreams where you don’t seem to me moving very fast usually mean a situation you want to escape from but can’t see how to – a class you dislike, a relationship which is not working out etc etc. If it is not a very scary dream but you do want to get away I suspect it is not something major. Think about things you’d like to get out of but would be difficult to do that.
View CommentIs Chasing Your Dreams Important? I know everybody wants to be famous and all that, but i have always wanted to be a musician fronting my own rock band. i can actually sing but i live in a small town with no places to do gigs. i don’t even have a band cause everyone here arent into the same music as me. i really feel that music is what im supposed to do but im just thinking realistically should i give up on my dreams and just get a normal job i won’t love? im 20. also how do i go about this?
View CommentYES! chasing your dreams is extremely important.
I met a girl a few years back on the internet, we started chatting and that, She was absolutely amazing and I was arranging to see her in Wales, but we fell out of contact just before i got it sorted.
I haven’t been able to speak to her and the last time i tried, she wouldn’t respond, i’ve always wanted to tell her im sorry if i did anything wrong and ive always wanted to go back to Wales just to see her one time.
I don’t want to just “turn up” but i can hope, what would you do in my place? I may just do what I’ve dreamt of doing because I’ve never been able to stop thinking of her no matter what relationship i got into here in Ireland.
I haven’t met her in person yet and when i tried i’m not even sure i was in the right place and i’ve felt awful or not fulfilling my dream, don’t let your self get to that stage.
SO YOU GO FOR IT! START YOUR BAND! LIVE YOUR DREAM GIRL! good luck x
P.s. sorry about the story, i just felt an example would explain it better instead of jus answering yes lol.
View CommentShould I Chase My Dream? I am a college graduate who is about to obtain a PhD in mathematics from a very good faculty. Everyone tells me I should “be realistic” and go into IT or computing, where I have $90,000+ offers. The only problem is, I hate these areas.
My dream has always been to be a teacher; I got 2 years of teaching experience as an undergrad and loved it, but allowed myself to get talked out of doing it because of the money.
Is it worth chasing my dream of being a math teacher, or should I go for the money?
Thank you!
View Comment$90k doesn’t feel like all that much when you hate what you’re doing. That said, $50k feels like even less if you hate what you’re doing, and you may come to hate teaching even more than IT or computing. You will never know, however, unless you try it. If you plan to teach at the high school level, be prepared to be disillusioned. In all probability, it will not work out like a Hallmark Movie Channel special. On the other hand, you may be one of those rare teachers who not only know their stuff, but know how to teach it AND who land in a school district with decent kids and supportive parents — a dream. Once you’ve had your fill of high school, you can move on to teaching in college, where more kids care about learning. In 30 years, you can retire from teaching and get a job in IT for 10 years to build up your retirement income or put your four boys through college. They’ll get free tuition at the college where you’re a professor, but they won’t want to go there. It’s life and more specifically; its YOUR life. Follow your dream. No one else knows you quite like you do, and it is certainly not “realistic” for someone to enter a field they dislike and succeed at it. I know. My guidance counselor told me I wasn’t “smart enough” to be a nurse, so I became a teacher. I hate teaching, or more specifically, I find children nothing but annoying and/or intimidating. Hated teaching; wasn’t my dream. Should have gone into any medical field. I’m a member of Mensa and could probably have squeaked through. Water under the bridge, unfortunately. Don’t let that be your sad story. “Oh, I went into IT because teaching doesn’t pay enough.” My IT friend who was making $100+k a year was laid off two years ago, still unemployed. Oops! Life happens, doesn’t it? Perhaps it would have been more realistic of him to go into teaching, because there’s such a shortage of math teachers in the country. Follow your heart.

View CommentWhen did summer start?
When does it end?
Did you go on any vacations?
Did you have a job?
What was your daily schedule like?
Have you ever had to write an essay about how you spent your summer vacation like in the movies?
I spent the summer filling virtually every hour of every day to capacity, and am now overwhelmed with delight to have finally fulfilled all my commitments and goals so I can actually start my summer vacation! I feel like I’ve been set free! I’ve been craving the taste of sweet liberty for months, and today is the first day I’m finally having it. It’s sooooo delicious. I actually cried with happiness and relief, haha. My dad has been encouraging me to just “act like a teenager” while I still am one and slow down my pace, and that’s exactly what I’m going to do!
When did summer start? ~ My last final exam for the spring quarter was on June 8. (I’m in college)
When does it end? ~ I return to campus on September 21.
Did you go on any vacations? ~ I’ve been up to our lake house and to various spots throughout California a few times, but I haven’t gone on a proper vacation yet. I’d been excited about a family vacation to Greece in June, but I had viral meningitis then and couldn’t travel so I stayed home with my dad while they went and had a beautiful time. I was supposed to be leaving this Thursday to volunteer in China for three weeks and then do a bit of traveling in Korea, but I’ve decided not to go this year. I really need a break. Instead my boyfriend and I are going to Florida to visit my grandpa for a few days, and then I’m going to just chillax for a while. I want to sleep till at least 8 every morning, make music, play tennis, paint, hang out with my friends and family, surf, finally decorate my room at my mom’s house, and lark about practicing the art of doing nothing! I’m going on a trip with my two best friends over Labor Day weekend, and then my dad, stepmom, grandpa, boyfriend and I are going to Bariloche, Argentina for 8 days to ski. I’m excited about it, but staying in town and having the luxury to spend my days however I wish will be an even better vacation.
Did you have a job? ~ Yes. My primary job is working as a part-time consultant for my dad’s business, and I had a few additional jobs this summer. I interned for a media production company in June and early July, had a research apprenticeship in the psychology department of a local university from June 21 to August 8, and taught at a dance intensive (like a day camp for dance but more rigorous) from August 8 until last night. I also gave guitar lessons to kids and painted a mural for someone.
What was your daily schedule like?
~ I had been waking up at 5:30 to accomplish personal tasks such as running with my dog, checking and responding to email, and swimming before officially starting my day. I was on campus from 8 to 1 either in class or working, and then headed home for lunch and a bit of downtime. I worked from 2 to 6:30 or thereabouts for my dad. I usually went to a dance class afterward, and then came home and had dinner and did homework. On the weekend I was teaching guitar lessons and doing choreography work. Last week I was at school in the morning wrapping up our research project, and then driving all the way over to the studio for the dance intensive and teaching from 1 to 9. I’d stumble home around 10 feeling obliterated by exhaustion.
Now I’m sleeping in, working until around noon for my dad, and then following my bliss in the afternoon and evening! I went to the beach today! I’m going to dinner with friends tonight! Yay!
Have you ever had to write an essay about how you spent your summer vacation like in the movies?
~ It was a tradition in elementary school. We’d write about how we spent our summer and then give a little presentation in front of the class, and we could bring in pictures and momentos. This one girl came in dressed in a kimono and brought mochi for the class. It’s a sweet little Japanese confection that sort of has the texture of a marshmallow, and is so much fun to eat. It would be awesome if you could still do that in high school and college, haha.

Dream – Being Chased By Cannibals? I had a horrible dream last night. I dreamt that I saw other people and myself being chased through a train by cannibals. They were covered in blood. Then I saw images of a cannibal eating someone. Then when I ran away, I saw trains crashing around me and I was just escaping them as I was on the train tracks. It was a very disturbing dream and I’m sure it has a hidden meaning. Anyone know?
View Comment“I’m Being Chased by cannibals”
Chase dreams is one of several common dream themes. As with most of the common dreams, they often stem from feelings of anxiety in your waking life. Running is an instinctive response to physical threats in your environment. In these dreams, you can be pursued by an attacker, an animal or an unknown figure, who wants to hurt or possibly kill you. In turn, you run, hide or try to outwit your pursuer. Your actions in the dream parallel how you respond to pressure and cope with fears, stress or various situations in your waking life. Instead of confronting the situation, you are running away and avoiding it. Ask yourself who is the one chasing you so that you can gain understanding and insight on the source of your fears and anxieties.
The pursuer or attacker who is chasing you in your dream may also represent an aspect of yourself. Your own feelings of anger, jealousy, fear, and possibly love, can assume the appearance of threatening figure. The shadowy figure can also symbolize rejected characteristics of your self. You may be projecting these feelings onto the unknown chaser. Next time you have a chase dream, turn around and confront your pursuer. Ask them why they are chasing you. Perhaps you are running away from something. What are you trying to run from?
If you are the one doing the chasing, then the dream may highlight your drive and ambition to go after something you want. Or perhaps the dream suggests that you are falling behind and having to catch up with everyone else.
Consider the distance or gap between you and your pursuer. This indicates your closeness to the issue. If the pursuer is gaining on you, then it suggests that the problem is not going to go away. The problem will surround you until you confront and address it. However, if you are able to widen the gap between your pursuer, then the problem is becoming less and less of an issue. You are able to successful distance yourself from the problem. In essence, the problem is fading away.
A more direct analysis of chase dreams is the fear of being attacked. Such dreams are more common among women than men, who may feel physically vulnerable in the urban environment. These dreams are inspired by fears of violence and sexual assault in which we are so over-exposed from the media, which magnifies such fears.
To see a train in your dream, represents conformity. You are going along with what everyone else is doing. Or you have a need to do things in an orderly and sequential manner. In particular, if you see a freight train, then it refers to the burdens and problems that you are hauling around like those cannibals. It is also symbolic of manual labor. If you see a passenger train, then it relates to mental work. If you see or play with a model train in your dream dream, then it indicates that you want more control and power over your own life and where it is headed. Alternatively, your dream of trains may be a metaphor that you are “in training” for some event, job or goal.
