Fedex AGAIN!!! (gearslutz.com).
John Goerzen: Dear FedEx: I Live Here (changelog.complete.org).
WTF? He left the plan sitting in the driveway, where it might easily get run over and would be exposed to the heavy rains anticipated today. Because Nikki was running around maybe 75-100 feet from him, all. IAt least he might have done what the wimpy lady-postal-service-driver does, and just pull into the driveway and start honking the trucks horn to get someones attention. A minimum of then the plan would be delivered securely.
Now, contrast that to the regular UPS (Brown) motorist who has our subdivisions route. Nikki likes him (Bandit not so much, however hes far less threatening) because hes established a relationship with her. He keeps pet dog bones in his truck, welcomes and pets her, and never has a problem making a shipment to our home. Im ready to wager he has multiple dogs in the house – most likely bigger types.

I saw the driver get out of his truck and begin to stroll up our driveway – that is, till he saw Nikki, our super-friendly 2-year old border collie running toward him. Nikki diverted off at the last 2nd, and continued running away from him (thats quite much all she does is run) – BUT, the guy freaked out anyway, dropped the package, and high-tailed it back to his truck!

Inexpensive Restaurants/eating Places On Michigan Ave And Jackson St In Chicago? My family is taking a trip to Chicago and we will be there for, like, seven hours at least. Only one day. Of course we will be hungry and are looking for cheap (like $5 a meal or order or whatever there is) food around lunch time.
View CommentWow, it’s a little difficult to find out an inexpensive option, though there are really a lot of dining venues along the Michigan Avenue.
Based on my knowledge, I recommend you to go to Shaw’s Crabhouse. Dishes are cheap there and they got a very reasonable lunch menu. Well, you may have to pay around 40 dollars for a meal. But you’ll get enough food for your family. Soups only cost 6-10 dollars each, salads are 5-6 dollars. They also got a number of cheap sushi options.
Visit their website to check out the lunch menu
http://www.shawscrabhouse.com/chicago/menu.shtml
well, the Tam Popo Japanese Restaurant is also a nice option. They serve cheap appetizers (from 5.5 dollars to 12 dollars). This restaurant also provides lunch specials and lunch box which only cost around 12 dollars.
Their lunch menu: http://www.tampopochicago.com/Menu.html#
Since you’re going to stay at Michigan Avenue for seven hours, you must have some time to spend after lunch. Why not try to explore this area. There are lots of places for your family to hang out. one of the hot spots is the renowned Water Tower. If you love shopping, then you will find a number of pretty nice stores.
When I was searching affordable restaurants for you, I also found a page with much info about things to do around Michigan Avenue. Maybe it’ll help you a lot. Check out it to see whether there are anything that interests you:

Hope this info can be helpful. Have a good day!

How Much Is Parking In Chicago Union Station’s Parking Garage? This parking garage is located kitty-corner to Union Station in downtown Chicago.
View CommentPreferably long-term parking from a Thursday to Thursday (1 Week), either the day rate, or the total amount due. Also, is there a special entrance for long-term parking? Is long-term parking different than short-term, price-wise and parking location-wise? How secure is that parking garage?
I only know these that are close to the station-

311 S Wacker Dr.
(312) 408-8115

I put the phone numbers because the rates can change suddenly. If you need to contact the station, the number is (312) 322-4269. They could probably tell you which areas are safe. I rarely drive in Chicago. The station address is 222 S. Canal Street Chicago, IL 60606 in case you want to mapquest it.

UPS TRUCK DELIVERY TIMES? I just got this…
View CommentDoraville, GA, United States 04/16/2012 12:42 P.M. Arrival Scan
Memphis, TN, United States 04/13/2012 8:04 P.M. Departure Scan
my house is 10 mins from Doraville will I get it today? What times do the trucks go out for delivery…..
No, you will not get it today. It arrived at the UPS distribution warehouse today. It will be sorted tonight and put on the delivery truck. You will probably get it tomorrow. Tuesday morning it should say “out for delivery”. And, no, you can’t go to the warehouse and pick it up today. It is in a pile of thousands of other boxes.
View CommentDriving A United Parcel Service Stick Shift Delivery Truck? I need answers from experienced UPS Package drivers only. Im a part time supervisor, and they plan on making me a driver shortly. My company told me to practice by showing up on a Saturday when there isn’t anyone around, hop into a package car and drive around. Now I have experience driving a stick shift car, but not a UPS Delivery Package Car. What are the steps in starting the package car? I know its clutch down and brake down, then turn it on. Need tips on shifting, some Package cars shift differently than others.
View CommentSame as a car, except is larger and wider (Watch the right side of the truck so you don’t side swipe things) Trucks will have a floor shifted transmission of 4 or 5 speeds and shifting is in “H” pattern. Most trucks will have a dashboard decal showing the shift pattern. Please note that most trucks do NOT have a synchronized transmission. You’ll be grinding gears at first, but once you get the hang of it it will be a piece of cake.
While UPS may frown on this practice, once you’ve become accustomed to driving a truck you can learn to shift without using the clutch once the truck is moving. It’s an “ole” truck driver trick to keep your legs from cramping .
View CommentThe Opposite Of A Delivery Truck Is Called A ….. Truck ? I’m not quite sure if it is called an unloading truck.
View CommentDepends, i’d call it a Pick up truck but at work I say to customer “OK I’ll send the delivery truck to pick it up” or id just say truck…. why does it need to be explained as more then just a ‘truck’?

AP Physics Help! A Delivery Truck Travels 20 Blocks North, 17 Blocks East And 19 Blocks South.? A delivery truck travels 20 blocks north, 17 blocks east and 19 blocks south. What is its final displacement from the origin? Assume the blocks are equal length.
View CommentMagnitude
___ blocks
Direction
____° (counterclockwise from east is positive)
Draw a picture for yourself to make it easier.
so let’s pretend the blocks are 1m long each. that means the truck travels 20m north, 17m east and 19m south. Now draw three vectors in head to tail orientation. so what i mean is draw an arrow with magnitude 20 and faced north, connect the head of that vector with the tail of the vector with magnitude 17 and faced east. then connect this second vector with the final vector that has magnitude 19 and faced south. so now you should have three vectors and it almost makes a rectangle.
now we want the displacement, all that means is add the vectors. since we already have the magnitude of the vectors: 20, 17 and 19. we just need to add them with respect to the coordinate system that you get to choose. the most simple way to do it is to set north and east positive.
now we have displacement = +20m +17m – 19m = 18m. So now we have our total displacement and we know that it is in the positive direction. But there is a problem, if you look at the drawing of the truck’s path, you will see that it goes up 20m to the side 17m but it comes down only 19m, that means that there is 1m difference between the first vector and the last vector, which also means that the total displacement is at an angle.
Don’t be scared of the angle it just means that our displacement is not perfectly east. it is a little to the north. so we need to find that angle. It is a little to the north because our last vector is only 19m and not 20m, so to connect the displacement vector to the 19m vector it would be an angle to the north east.
to find the angle: we know that the displacement vector is 18m and we know that the width of the rectangle if we were to complete it would be 17m. so that means we have 2 sides and an angle in between, so we use cosx, where x = 17/18. because if we were to complete the rectangle, we would find that the displacement vector of 18m makes a triangle that has a 90 degree angle and the 18m vector is the hypotenuse and the 17m vector is the adjacent.
cosx = 17/18
x= cos^-1 (17/18)
x= 19.2 degrees.
therefore the magnitude is 18 blocks 19.2 degrees.

This should be a simple a problem. All you have to do is set up a triangle.
The truck travels 15 blocks north and 18 blocks south, that means that the truck travels 3 blocks south:
15 blocks north+18 blocks south= -3 block north=3 blocks south
The truck travels 23 east.
Now set up a triangle,
The triangle will have a height of 3 and base of 23.
To find the magnitude of displacement, use the pythag.
3^2+23^2=c^2
C=23.19
So the truck is 23.19 blocks away from the starting point.
Now to find the direction, you will need to use basic trig:
so tanx=height/base, x=tan-1(height/base)=tan-1(3/23)=7.43 degrees
Remember that the net travel was in the south direction, therefore the direction will be -7.34 degrees.
So the final displacement is:
23.19 blocks [-7.34 degrees]
View CommentHow Late Does The UPS Delivery Truck Run? I ordered a package 2 weeks ago, and finally the Ups tracking page says its out for Delivery as a 6:20 am Eastern Time in Louisville. I live about 30-45 minutes from Louisville and it still has not arrived as of 4:30 pm today. Will it come or will I have to wait another day?
View CommentI’m fairly ticked off right now, as I have used FedEx before and my package was at my doorstep around Noon, when it was out for delivery. I just used Ups because I got free shipping from the website I ordered on. So somebody just leave an answer. Get some free points I guess
Their delivery window usually ends around 6:00 p.m. local time.
View CommentThe Credit Purchase Of A Delivery Truck For $4,700 Was Posted To Delivery Trucks As A $4,700 Debit And To Acco? The credit purchase of a delivery truck for $4,700 was posted to Delivery Trucks as a $4,700 debit and to Accounts Payable as a $4,700 debit. What effect would this error have on the trial balance?
Can someone explain why the answer is 9400$??
View CommentHow it was posted
Dr Delivery Trucks 4,700
Dr Accounts Payable 4,700
How it should have been posted
Dr Delivery Trucks 4,700
Cr Accounts Payable 4,700
So instead of adding (credit) to accounts payable, the amount was subtracted (debit). That’s a difference of $9,400
Example
Correct
10,000 + 4,700 = 14,700
Incorrect
10,000 – 4,700 = 5,300
The difference is 9,400

View CommentWhat Schedules Do The UPS Delivery Trucks Follow? Let me clarify: I’m asking about the local area delivery trucks, the last step in delivering it to your house. My specific question is: Do they have two “shifts” of delivery drivers? or do they load up one truck early in the morning and that truck spends all day delivering (9am to 7pm)?
View CommentThe ones that deliver to us have their truck loaded in the morning and start their routes, they also pickup packages as well and if they finish their routes they sometimes can go back and deliver more if needed…..
