25 Odd Interview Questions

These questions were released by Glassdoor, a jobs community. They are all quite creative, and some downright funny. (My answers follow).

“If you were to get rid of one state in the US, which would it be and why?” – Asked at Forrester Research, Research Associate candidate. More Forrester Research interview questions.

Ummmm, does DC count?

“How many cows are in Canada?” – Asked at Google, Local Data Quality Evaluator candidate. More Google interview questions.

7 million. About 1 for every 5 humans. I guess Google wants Eveluators who do nothing other than “google” trivia all day.

Gun Rights and Obamacare

Bill Clinton

A couple interesting articles from NewsMax.

First, Bill Clinton is now telling all of the anti-gun democrats and liberals to lighten up a bit. As he puts it, “A lot of these people live in a world very different from the world lived in by the people proposing these things. I know because I come from this world.” It’s one of the few things that Clinton has recently said that I can agree with 100%.

Is it real, or is it just a ploy to prepare the mid-terms for democrats by urging them to look like they’re moving toward the middle? Hmmmm…..

16 Trillion

English: The United States' debt ceiling was r...

I’ve decided that’s how I’m going to respond to everything the next time I have a “debate” with a liberal. It doesn’t happen very often (the debate, that is), but it always frustrates me to no end. More than once I’ve had to deal with responses like, “You obviously know your facts and figures, BUT (there’s always a “but”) I’m happy that millions of people have insurance that didn’t have it before”. Or, “Obviously you’ve studied this at length, BUT I still feel good about __________ (insert your favorite liberal cause here)”.

$2.93!

Previous Fred Meyer logos

That’s how much I just paid for gas at the Fred Meyer on Chinden Blvd. And, like my brother-in-law Scott said to me last week during our family Christmas party, “Bet you didn’t think you’d ever get excited about $3 gas“. Well, I am excited, and here’s why.

I’ve been saying all through the economic debacle of the last 4 years, gas dropping into the $2 range (preferably closer to the $2 mark), would be the best thing that could happen to us economically. Not tax cuts, not trillion dollar money injections into the economy, not wishful thinking. No, the best thing would be a drop in the cost of energy. (Which is why I was so “for” Romney in the election – he wanted to create an American energy surplus).

Mountain West, Here We Come. Again.

MWC Tournament logo

So, after the craziness and defections of the last couple weeks, it’s now final. Boise State will remain in the Mountain West conference.

Not to say it really surprises me, because it doesn’t. The Big East was well on its way to becoming the laughing stock of the college football world. And, that’s the last thing we need – to once again be in the middle of controversy and derision. I can hear it now – “They went to a worse conference than they were in”. “Taking the easy road once again”. Etc. Etc.
