Draft Day Been Good for Boise State

So to wrap NFL draft day up for Boise State – two first rounders, then four more draftees taken in rounds 3-7, then five more signed before the end of the day as free agents. Beats anything we’ve done in the past.

Round 1, #19. Shea McClellin went to “Da Bears”. As a Packer fan this stings a little bit because I know Green Bay was eyeing him. So, did the Bears do it on purpose – get a great pass rusher to pressure Rodgers, and then rub a little salt in the wound? Prolly.

I saw the driver get out of his truck and start to walk up our driveway – that is, until he saw Nikki, our super-friendly 2-year old border collie running toward him. Nikki veered off at the last second, and continued running away from him (that’s pretty much all she does is run) – BUT, the dude freaked out anyway, dropped the package, and high-tailed it back to his truck!

Hello world!

I’ve often argued with myself about (re)starting this blog – thinking there was never a really good place to “begin”. Kinda like starting a novel, I guess. An odd case of writer’s block.

So, I’ll just start out with today’s most notable event – the NFL draft. I am happy to report that for the first time ever (well, in 16 years anyway), two Broncos – Shea McClellin and Doug Martin were drafted in the first round. Wahoo. Our boys hit the big time. Shea went at #19 to “Da Bears”, and Doug gets to irritate and hopefully replace LaGarret Blount in Tampa Bay (rumor has it LB punched the TV at some point tonight – ha!).
