Search Engine Optimization

There are many articles online today which claim to provide you with expert advice, but the fact is that they are often riddled with myths. If you know what to watch out for, you’ll be better able to locate the real facts instead of dwelling on fiction. This article will detail some of the most common myths and what the truth about each is.

Banner Ads

Content is all you need to focus on. That is completely false. Why? Because even if you write the best content ever, if no one reads it, your blog will fail. Even when people are sharing your content online, if you don’t have an interaction with those readers, they likely won’t stick around. Until you have a strong audience who follows you on all of your pages, your content can never go viral and bring you the popularity your blog deserves. Don’t spend all of your time on your content – be sure to spend lots of time on marketing and community building, too.

Marketing is all you need to focus on. Obviously, just like the above myth, this one isn’t true either, although you would expect it to be one or the other. Without strong content, marketing won’t help as no one will bother reading your blog. You can spike in visitors, thanks to a single viral post, but you won’t retain those visitors unless you have other content they find just as interesting. If you want to know what your focus should be, it should be balance. You need to invest time inBlogging content and marketing to bring your blog to a successful position.

Business Purposes

Social media is a waste of time, so skip it. Social media has made popular many different people and their websites, so it should not be completely discounted. While the traffic you get from social media isn’t necessarily the most targeted, it is your job to make it as targeted as possible. You want to turn those visitors into people who come back time and time again in order to also turn them into increased profits.

Search engine optimization isn’t as important as building a strong social media following. The fact is that visitors who arrive at your site from search engines are likely to have more interest in your content than those who happen across your site through shares on social media. How many blogs have you found through social media which you subscribe to today? Now think about how many you have located on Google, instead. The fact is that search engine optimization can also be used to boost the popularity of your social media feeds as well! Also, SEO can boost visitors and so can social media, but they frequently don’t benefit the same posts. If you are able to do both, you will receive double the rewards.

Golden Opportunity

Now that these myths have been debunked, you’ll understand the reality of blogging. This will allow you to quickly choose the information you can trust and which articles you cannot. Keep doing your research, but be sure to stick to sites which offer the truth instead of outdated information.

What Is SEO Or Search Engine Optimization? How To Do SEO?

    View Comment

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) techniques can either be organic or paid. Paid (PPC) can be useful in identifying the keywords you should target for your SEO campaign, however, many small companies cannot afford these types of PPC campaigns. Organic SEO involves optimizing on-site SEO by first identifying your target keywords and long-tail keywords. A long-tail keyword phrase is the best technique for small businesses because there is usually less competition for these keywords, and it is rare for someone to enter just one word into a search engine search bar. Examples of long-tail keywords are: “Organic butter from Lancaster PA”, or “Organic Pick your own berry farms in PA”, whereas regular keywords are “Organic butter”, “butter”, “Berries”.
You will want to target low to medium competition keywords with medium to high search volume. You can also try GEO-SEO which is using your geographic location to target customers, which might be useful for a small store trying to attract local customers.

Here is what you should target for SEO:

-Use your keywords that are relevant to each pages content in your title tags,

      tags, and meta-description tags.
-Make sure to use alt=”” attribute in your image html (search engine spiders can’t see your images, so help yourself by helping them and use the alt=”” attribute.
-The higher your content is on the page (above the fold), the more value it will impart.
-Link to other pages (deep pages) within your own website.
-Link to others in your industry (relevant)
-Make sure you have a call to action on any pages that you would want to place “contact us at”.
This is your big neon sign that screams “Get Yours Here!”

Off-site SEO involves building back-links to your website from other sites that have high authority, are popular, are a valuable resource in their industry (your industry).

I go into this in great detail on my website blog and I recently answered a question on back-links for Yahoo! if you would like to know more 8)

What Exactly Is Search Engine Optimisation And What Is The Job Of SEO?

    View Comment
    1. Reply

Search Engine Optimisation or SEO is getting the website into the Free/Organic listings of search engines.SEO has been there since the beginning of the Internet. The primary advantage of SEO is that it can be done entirely free, without any cash outlay.

The Job of an SEO is to make the website reach the listings and achive a good page rank through many factors like link popularity, page rank, improving content(i,e) making rich content wrt to search engines.

SEO specialists would have to "guess" and adapt to ever-changing strategies and tactics to either maintain their positions or improve their rank. One month could mean you're out of the top ten with no warning.

SEO is slower in terms of ranking your site on a lot of chosen keywords. You would have to make numerous link requests, multiple pages, press release, etc. Also, it takes a lot more time for search engines to index new sites' domain names (it can take months).

What Is The Difference Between Search Engine Optimization And Pay Per Click Search Engine Marketing?

    View Comment
    1. Reply

      Search Engine Optimization:
Is when the search engine looks through the websites that have more traffic related to the word/s that you entered. So selects first the ones that people go to the most… google works like that. for example if you search book in google the website on top would be facebook, because more people go to it when looking for a phrase with the word book.( this is totally free, websites don’t have to pay to be on top)

      Pay per click:
is when a website pays a search engine for every click they get on their link, this way the search engine puts their website on top of the search list since it is more likely the person will click on it. Google also is an example of this, for example search “lawyer in miami” the first links will be lawyers who pay google for every click they get, so google puts them on top as they are more likely to get clicked there. ( but also google not only puts them there for their money but for the quality of their website too. that is what the rating is for)

      hope this helps you.

Most major search engines will find your website naturally, however it is possible to manually submit to search engines (here’s Googles for example – There are tools available to submit sites to multiple search engines but this isn’t something that is recommended.

The description under the link in the serps is called a meta description. This can be changed by editing the More details here -

I think your visited sites are showing as the first result in Google because you are logged into a Google account? You can simply log out to prevent this or go to the following link – and make sure “Web History is off” you may also need to go to search settings and turn off personal results. This will then show the true search results.

Search Engine Optimization? Plz help me in optimizing my site

    View Comment
    1. Reply

      Often we get asked to do search engine optimization for various clients who have existing websites. We will review the websites, and we are amazed at the blunders made by the previous webmasters. Some of those blunders are;

Using images in place of text.
No use of alt text in value added images.
      Over use of images.
      Lack of headings tags.
Poorly written title and description tags.
      What do these all mean?

Using Images in Place of Text – Often, you will see a logo in the corner of a website with a company slogan, or a bulleted list of services on a website that are no more than an image. A search engine spider can not read the text in an image, it sees it as nothing more than an image. To see what your website looks like to a search engine spider, go to

No Use of Alt Text – When writing your html and inserting images, you will probably enter code that looks something like this...
      img src="images/website_hosting2.gif" mce_src="images/website_hosting2.gif" alt="website hosting" width="16? height="16? border="0?

Notice the alt= part. This is an opportunity to associate the image with a valuable keyword, be be aware of keyword stuffing as alt tags are intended for ease of navigation for individuals with disabilities.

OverUse of Images – This has more of an impact on the visitors browsing experience and has an impact on load time of your website. Overuse of images can dilute your keyword density as well. Remember, content is king.

Missing Heading Tags – Headings tags are used to give emphasis to certain words or paragraphs within the context of your website. This is typically done by using a H1, H2, H3 or other H tag. These tags tell the search engine spiders that particular emphasis should be put on this term when evaluating what the website is about.

Poorly Written Title and Description – This is just what it implies. A poorly written title or description of your site can have a devestating effect on your seo efforts.

      Additional on page factors that impact SEO that aren't as obvious are;

      Poor code to text ratio.
Content too far down in the code.
      Low or excessive keyword ratios.
      Low keyword prominance.
      Excessive use of tables.
      Use of frames.
      URL Structuring for dynamic websites.
      Duplicate Content/Canonical Issues.
      No Site Map
Excessive Use of Java or other scripting.

The lists above do not address all potential SEO killers. Addressing these items alone does not guarantee successful placement in SERPS (Search Engine Placement Results), but one can not have a successful seo campaign by ignoring these. When designing your website, make sure that you are observing SEO Best Practices. Doing so will make your seo campaign much easier in the long run.

How To Understand Search Engine Optimization?

    View Comment
    1. Reply

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the visibility of a website or a web page in search engines via the “natural” or un-paid (“organic” or “algorithmic”) search results. Other forms of search engine marketing (SEM) target paid listings. In general, the earlier (or higher on the page), and more frequently a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine. SEO may target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, video search and industry-specific vertical search engines. This offers a website web presence.
