What Would You Major In To Do Social Media Marketing? Trying to find out what I would need to major in to do social media marketing and some good universities to go to. I have found I would like that a lot and just trying to get an idea. If it is social media marketing I apologize, google has not been too helpful.

View CommentHow Has Social Media Influenced The English Language? How has social media influenced the use and practise of the English language (literature etc.) I am looking for both positive and negative effects.
View CommentThanks a lot:)
It is too large an area for a single question.
But simple things like text speak … we now have children applying for jobs using this.
Traditional language skills are being replaced, but whether this is good/bad or positive/negative depends on how you view it. Traditionalists will say it is really bad. But I can also see an argument that says it doesn’t matter, what matters most is that we are able to communicate, however we do it.
New words are being introduced… blogging for example.
Also the fact that so many people can see your written word means it has a bigger effect…, the changes we make for a larger worldwide audience is going to have an effect.
Things like color instead of colour.. American terms like ‘sodder’ instead of the traditional british ‘solder’ … or Aluminum replacing Aluminium. Social media plays a large part towards introducing these changes due to their global nature.
I can see the English Language changing hugely (especially when written informally), there will remain a devout set of traditionalists, but I think they will be ignored and common usage will diverge hugely from the ‘proper’ usage.
View CommentDo You Think My New Social Media Site Will Be Able To Compete With Facebook? My new social media site will be called “Buttbook”. All photos “must” be butt photos to protect your identity. You can buy those plastic googly eyes at Wal*Mart to paste on your hiney. Whether you draw a smiley face or a frown is totally up to each individual user. However, you must use a permanent marker. The color is up to you. As far as your private information goes, I will sell it to the highest bidder.

View CommentHow Useful Are Social Media Platforms For Marketing? If we wanted to market a specific person (ie to raise their celebrity status) what social media platforms (eg blogging, interactive website etc) would you suggest and why?
View CommentIn this day in age social media impacts greatly on marketing. I suggest you use something like facebook. you are able to monitor what happens and what is said, and you have the opportunity to involve your ‘users’. Give them a certain level of ‘decision making’ power.
The important thing is to focus on building relationships with your ‘customers’ and maintaining these relationships, by doing this, they will market your business for you.
Also, if you receive any negative comments or feedback, the best way to handle it is to react quickly! and try and resolve the situation as best and honestly as you can.
Good luck

What Will Come After The Social Media Frenzy? What will online life be like after the social media frenzy? Let me know your thoughts, and references to other smart people’s thoughts 🙂
View CommentThe social media frenzy will dissipate but not disappear. Social media is here to stay and will continue to evolve as we increase our computing power and digital infrastructure.
Social media is changing the way companies market their products. Television, radio, and even books and magazines (in digital format) will all have a social element in them. Everyone will be able to discuss, comment, learn and argue online via the social web. It is my belief that social networks will increasingly become interlinked and names like Twitter and Facebook will be different views and filters for the same social web. Online profiles will be as necessary as drivers licenses.
All good companies will recognize the importance of social media marketing and allocate appropriate resources.
The semantic web will develop and emerge as the content online becomes more understandable to computers. Online research will be able to be accomplished by a machine almost as easy as a human being.
Geo-locating social networks will mature and information online will be increasingly location specific. Imagine walking into your supermarket and getting a map of where everything is directly on your Iphone, along with a new coupon to thank you for being there four times this month (the technology already exists).
Eventually social historians will study the social web as a fantastic archive of the society we live in today. Imagine your great grandchildren reading your twitter posts in an ancestry.com like interface to find out what you were like. (The social web is currently being archived)
The future is increasingly connected and relevant information will be available easily and accurately.

View CommentSome Good Effects Of Social Media In Ecommerce Industry? Some good effects of social media in ecommerce industry
View CommentSocial media helps to find new customers and to keep in touch with the existing ones which is good for any business. It’s particularly important for ecommerce because online businesses often don’t have any phisical location and they don’t meet their customers in person. Social media networks provide great opportunities for them to interact with the customers, research their needs and preferences and so on. In other words, social networks replace physical contact with customers for e-businesses. People often don’t trust to things if they can’t touch them. Social networks let ecommerce companies to be closer to their customers to get their trust.

View CommentIs Their A Positive Side To Social Media? I’m doing a project on how social media affects people’s perceptions of themselves. Do you see any positive aspects of social media on people’s self-perception?
View CommentAlso if you could add a source to your answer that would be great! Thanks 🙂
Social media mess up people in the mind a lot. You constantly see celebrities and models that are so skinny and so many young people (especially girls) are affected by it a lot. They hurt themselves in the long run and just try to be “perfect”. Also, in magazines they tell you what you should wear and what’s in style. Watching television also f**ks up you’re mind because it’s like you’re literally getting brainwashed most of the time, companies trying to sell you things and half of it doesn’t even work. I think everything about social media is negative no matter what. It doesn’t mean anything, there cannot be an ideal image of what is beautiful or what is right. It’s all in our own minds, we should choose and do what WE think is right, not let others take control of our mind.
