Meta Description Tags - Simple Strategies

Below is one of the best articles we have ever read on the subject. It lays everything out nicely, it’s easy to read, and, understand, it touches on all of the key issues, and, best of all, when you have finished reading it, you will definitely know which is a very good direction to take given your circumstances.

Simple Ways To Maximize Your Search Engine Ranking

Additional Research

In order to have a successful online website, you must attract visitors. One of the best methods of doing this is increasing your search engine ranking. Continue reading to learn a few excellent strategies for doing this.

Black Hat

First, you must ensure you are using keywords effectively. You cannot expect to just throw any keywords on any location of your website and succeed in increasing your search engine ranking. You must ensure the keywords you select are the right ones and that you place them in the right areas.

Code Content

To find the right keywords, you should do keyword research based on what you are promoting. Some keywords will be obvious, but others will not be. In addition, the most effective keyword strategies involve using both short-tail and long-tail keywords.

Description Tags

Short-tail keywords are those that uSEOse just a few words and are very common in search engine results. For instance, if you promoting a brokerage service, the keyword “brokerage service” is short-tail because this is very short, general, and would yield a lot of results. The problem is that short-tail keywords will have a lot of competition; therefore, it is more difficult to rank high on the search engines.

Generating Tools

On the other hand, long-tail keywords are longer and more specific. For instance, rather than using “brokerage services”, you may add “brokerage services in Georgia.” Long-tail keywords can assist you in achieving a higher search engine ranking because there will not be as much competition for them. However, the downside is that long-tail keywords do not yield as many results as short-tail keywords because not as many people will be searching for these particular words. Understand that the best strategies incorporate both short-tail and long-tail keywords.

Google

When it comes to keyword location, you should ensure you are not just including keywords in the body of your text. Keywords should also be located in your title tags, meta description tags (which are short descriptions of your website), etc. In addition, keep in mind that more keywords is not necessarily better. By overusing keywords, search engine crawlers will eventually notice, resulting in a lower search engine ranking.

Keyword Research

An excellent tool to utilize on your website is a site map. This tool is like a legend of your entire website. This assists search engine crawlers in indexing your website, which will yield higher search engine results.

Niche Market

Finally, ensure you always post high-quality content above everything else. Search engines, especially Google, are becoming really adept at spotting spammy content. By attempting to stuff your text full of keywords that have no useful meaning, search engine crawlers will de-index your website from the search engine results. In addition, the purpose of search engine optimization is to attract more visitors so that they will become customers; however, spammy content will only result in visitors turning elsewhere once they have seen it. Therefore, post great content first, and then attempt to utilize other SEO strategies.

How Do I Increase My SERP? Am sick and tired of building links to my site without any result? Is there any tips on how to improve my search engine ranking. Any ebook or something.
Secondly, is my site properly optimized?

    • OK. what is SERP. Search Engine Results Position. The SE’s attempt to list all the websites in order of usefulness of content to a particular search term. This should mean (in the SE’s interpretation) that the #1 site is the site that they feel is most appropriate, or contains the most appropriate information, for the person who typed in the search term. So if someone searches for ‘banana’ the #1 site in the SERPs should be the best possible site on the subject of bananas. But, of course we know it doesn’t work exactly like that. For one reason the sites are being read by robots and they are behaving according to the particular SE’s algorithm.
Now some people try and ‘fool’ the robots into thinking their site should be #1 and others try their hardest to genuinely be the best site for a particular term and therefore #1.
It is getting more and more difficult to ‘fool’ the robots and if you are suspected of trying to do this you will probably be penalised by the SEs.

Which One Is Better To Get Better Search Engine Ranking? Im making my first website and was wondering, which one is will get better search rankings
    1.Making a website in photoshop
2.Making a website with html codes and css

If I make a website in photoshop but put in quality content and good keywords will i still get good search engine ranking?
Does content still determine the search engine ranking if you use drag and drop software or any type of program/software?

    • It doesn’t matter what you put in your website as long as it contains the keywords most people search for…
Your website will only be ranked if it is searched, and it will only be searchable if you paid your host for it…
If you paid for it, search engines will lookup for your website’s “keyword” header, and if it matches with the keyword of the user is searching for, you get the ‘hit’ for the rankings…
      Good luck!

How Do You Avoid Wikipedia From Appearing In Your Search Engine Results? How do you avoid wikipedia from appearing in your search engine results??? I can’t stand wikipedia, everytime I type in a word to get a simple definition, wikipedia comes up! There has got to be an option to get rid of this problem.

I would prefer to not have to type anything extra, I just want an option to permanently get rid of it. Is there option on yahoo, that you know of, that allows this? it’s really annoying.

    • You can use -wikipedia if you want to filter all of them out.

Remember: attach a hyphen to all search terms you want to exclude.

How To Get Good Search Engine And Page Rank ? How many ways are there to get good page rank and search engine rank ? Please give me some valuable and worth full suggestions.

    • You may want to consider some simple algorithms which,
when observed and committed in designing of a website
with placement of various critical metatags that can
surely achieve a high search engine presence and
increase Internet traffic to your website. These
metatag strategies work well with published webpages
      at Google and Yahoo.

Design: Should you create an extensive Flash-based
website, make sure to fill-in the property entries
such as the Title, Description and Keywords. Failing
to do so, leaves no hard HTML or ALT resource that can
be readily indexed by search robots. Also consider the
Internet audience and their incoming setup. For
example, if they are on analog/dialup, Flash webpages
take too long to load up and therefore analog users
will likely lose interest and discontinue entering the
Flash site. On the other hand, anyone on hi-speed DSL
lines, will welcome Flash pages which load quickly. So
before designing a pure Flash websitge, ask the simple
question, “Who’s my end user – is he on dialup or
DSL?” And if you had to choose between these two users
for maximum marketability, then select analog users
since 80% of most resident users are still analog
Internet subscribers and pure HTML designed webpages
      is best for them.

A non-Flash-based website which relies on hard text,
is far easier to be indexed by search robots. Limit
the use of stylized text saved as .gifs since as a
graphic, they are not indexable by search robots.

Avoid use of frames since any number of search robots
are unable to properly classify textual material.

      Placement of Metatags:

A ranking or search order does take place with Google
and Yahoo and it begins with the “Title” metag which
should consist of no more than 65 characters separated
by commas. The “Title” should describe in generic
terms, the goods and services, followed by a location
from which the resource is located, i.e., city, state.
The placement of a domain name which is not generic
within the “Title” is not appropriate, unless your
domain name is a major recognizable brand name.

The second metatag is the “Description” which is
usually 25-30 words to form a complete sentence which
best describes one’s goods and services.

And the very last category – “Keywords” are also
somewhat limited to 15-16 words which can be plural
and compound in nature. Again, avoid multiple entries
which could be mistaken as “spamdexed entries” which
is defined as the loading, and submission of
repetitive words into a particular metatag category.
“Spamdexing” when discovered on a webpage and reported
to Google’s spamreport.com can result in the
elimination of your website from their search
      directory.

      Good luck!

What Is Search Engine Ranking Page?

    • Hi,

search engine results page is the listing of results returned by a search engine in response to a keyword query. The results normally include a list of items with titles, a reference to the full version, and a short description showing where the keywords have matched content within the page.

What Is Search Engine Optimisation? What is search engine optimisation?

    • Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via “natural” (“organic” or “algorithmic”) search results. Usually, the earlier a site is presented in the search results, or the higher it “ranks”, the more searchers will visit that site. SEO can also target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, and industry-specific vertical search engines.

As a marketing strategy for increasing a site’s relevance, SEO considers how search algorithms work and what people search for. SEO efforts may involve a site’s coding, presentation, and structure, as well as fixing problems that could prevent search engine indexing programs from fully spidering a site. Other, more noticeable efforts may include adding unique content to a site, ensuring that content is easily indexed by search engine robots, and making the site more appealing to users. Another class of techniques, known as “Black Hat” SEO or spamdexing, use methods such as link farms and keyword stuffing that tend to harm search engine user experience. Search engines look for sites that employ these techniques and may remove their listings.

Search Engine Algorithm And Ranking Of Websites?

    • Your rank in a search engine depends on various factors, but majorly on the rank is based on the number of links from other websites to your web page.

Secondly, Every one thinks Google algorithm is a secret. By the way, Serge Brin and Larry Page them selves published a research paper informing about the technology in 1998, when Google was a prototype called as Back Rub. Here is the link:

What Are The Search Engine? Tell me all the search engine that you know please?

    • A search engine is an information retrieval system designed to help find information stored on a computer system. Search engines help to minimize the time required to find information and the amount of information which must be consulted, akin to other techniques for managing information overload.

The most popular form of a search engine is a Web search engine which searches for information on the public World Wide Web. eg: google.com, search.yahoo.com, live.com etc.

There are mainly 3 types of Web search engine:
1.Simple web search engines (eg: google etc. as above)
      2.Meta search engines (eg: dogpile.com, mamma.com etc.)
      3.Multi search engines (eg: twingine.com, multi-search-engine.com, bjorgul.com, crispyweb.com etc.)

Meta and Multi search engines combine results from one oor more simple web search engines and help us compare results.

Which Search Engine Gives The Most Accurate Results? Which search engine is the best in guessing what I’m searching for?

    • Accurate results is a relative term. All search engines “stack the deck,” with sponsoring sites.

Additionally, junk sites (porn, etc) will enter common search criteria and add that data into the tags used to compile searches. Eventually, those junk sites filter into the upper results for the search engines.

For one site, which lists “top searches,” if you page to the second page, usually half of those listed are such junk sites, and by page 4, almost all are such.

Define Search Engine? Define search engine

    • A web search engine is designed to search for information on the World Wide Web and FTP servers. The search results are generally presented in a list of results and are often called hits. The information may consist of web pages, images, information and other types of files. Some search engines also mine data available in databases or open directories. Unlike Web directories, which are maintained by human editors, search engines operate algorithmically or are a mixture of algorithmic and human input.

Search Engine Ranking Question? I’m with a company that was asked by one of its vendors to put a link on its page to boost their search engine ranking. While we would like to accomodate them, we don’t prefer to have their link visible to visitors to our site. Can we still make a link to their site, but hidden from view without breaking SEO rules? For example, could we make a page like http://www.blahblahblah.com/otherlinks.html and put their link on it, but not have this otherlinks.html page accessible via any of our pages? Would this still be picked up by search engines to boost the other companies site ranking?

    • One way of course is to hide that link so visitors cannot see it. When we were still doing reciprocal linking, one of our requirements is that there must be a way from the homepage to reach their link pages just like ours because of this practice of hiding the links from the visitors. However, they may not mind and check if the page is accessible from anywhere on your site

While you’re at it (since you obviously do not want to link), why don’t you tell the search engines that you also don’t want the SEs to see the link. Search engines will see the page, unless you specifically instruct them not to read the page

You can put a content=”no index” in your metatag or rel=”nofollow” after the anchor link so search engines will not read that you actually created a link to that site. This is especially important now since the SEs especially Google has become strict on who you are linking to — and they prefer that you link only to those sites that are related to your site’s theme

The other company won’t get any benefit from the link to you – whether from your visitors or the search engines. But for the sake of vendor relations, you can tell them that you did indeed create a link to them – and hope that they won’t check your source code and see your nofollow or noindex tags
