Professional Web Designers

Once you’ve learned the basics of web design, you may still want to learn more. While that’s a little more difficult, it can be done if you know where to get more skills. Here are a few pieces of advice that you can follow to get you to where you need to be.

Changing All The Time

You may be able to find a school in your area that offers a web design class. Go to the colleges and see what they have to offer, and you may even want to go to a community college. Before signing up, it’s always a good idea to look around for reviews on the school. While most schools are well known and well reviewed, there are some community colleges that aren’t that good. You want to be careful because this could cost you a lot of money and you need to be sure you’re getting great service from the school or it’s not going to be worth it.

Community Colleges

Look to see if you can find a group of professional web designers to ask questions to. You could probably find people like this if you look on a website with web design forums. If you’re already going to a school for computer programming, you may be able to ask others in your class for help. Getting someone to help could end up costing you money, but if you’re already friends with the person they may help you for free.

Computer Programming

Getting a book on web design is another great way to learn how to do better with your web design skills. You just have to make sure that you get a book that is more recent, because a lot of the time, you’ll find older ones for a fair price , but the problem with those are that they’re not going to teach you how sites should be made currently. Since the world of web design is changing all the time, staying current with it is something you always should strive for so you don’t get beat by your competition.

Free Web Design

Find articles and videos about web design on the Internet. Every day someone is posting something that could help you out. Go to a search engine and just search for free web design tutorials and you should come up with a ton of results. You should also sign up for a video sharing site and search for web design tutorials there as well. Once you find something you’d like to use, make sure you save Web Designit so that later you can come back to it. If you have questions about something on someone’s site, don’t be afraid to contact them if you can.

Money

Once you learn how to better your skills, everything starts to fall into place for you. All you have to do is follow the advice you were given here, and it shouldn’t be difficult for you to do well. Use everything you were taught here and watch your web design skill rise to the next level!

Are There Any Ways For A 15-year-old To Make Good Cash? I’m pretty much broke, and I don’t earn allowance. I’ve been trying to think of a way to get myself some quick cash instead of relying on my parents to lend me the dough, but my choices are limited. I have graphic designing and web design skills, but who’s going to pay for non-professional work? Anyway, I just need some ideas, and any suggestions are appreciated.

    • To be honest…you can do anything.

What you need to consider it to make real money is to multiply your time. If you’re going to mow lawns, the best way is to schedule yourself 100 lawns to be mowed at a certain price (say $15 a 1/4 acre per mowing.) and get others your age who need cash to go mow those lawns for you at a rate of $10-$11 per mowing). If you do nothing else you’ll make $400-$500 per mowing schedule just for being a good scheduler. Plus you’ll make 5 other guys your age pretty happy to make $200 or so each.

Same can go with babysitting…or some other service oriented business that most 15-year olds do.

Whatever you decide…multiply your time by being the boss, getting all the business and spreading it among friends.

The final word on this is: Integrity. The moment you don’t pay one of your employee buddies or someone’s lawn doesn’t get mowed, then you’re back to begging your parents for $5 for taking out the trash.

      The world is yours….

What Type Of Domain Name Provider Should I Use To Create A Website? I am looking to go into the Information Technology field and I am going to create a website to showcase my web design skills. Show I create the website from scratch, that is only using my own HTML code or use a website that provides tools to help me create the website? What domain name provider should I use?
    *Should
Basically, who it make a better impression on a potential employer (or school) if I made the site only using HTML code that I have created or would it be ok to use a website builder.

    • It would be better to write the HTML yourself.

For hosting and a domain name I recommend one of these: http://www.webhostingdiscounts.org/

iPage is on sale right now, 88% off from the regular price.
You can get 1 year of hosting for just $18 ($1.50/month) or 2 years for $24 ($1.00/month).

They’re one of the oldest web hosting companies, founded 1998, also one of the largest, currently hosting over a million websites.

Their hosting plan includes unlimited storage and bandwidth, and all the features you might need.

Where Can I Hire A Very Professional Web Designer? I found out that freelancer.com is a huge-con and they trick you into spending vast sums of money. For example, it costs $5 to delete your ad !!!

I went on eLancer but they didn’t have a great deal of talent.

So where can i hire a very professional web designer to build me a website consisting of php, html and maybe more programming languages.

Any websites in the USA that offer this?

    • As you are someone who has no knowledge of website design, your best bet to find a decent developer would be to use google to find some local businesses and freelancers

you might find freelancers in your area better priced as they don’t have the overheads that businesses have but you still have to be careful with businesses also, I have seen some businesses offering some very very poorly developed and designed websites, but there is an easy way

contact a few website firms and freelancers in your area so you can meet them face to face, have a chat with them about what it is you want and give them ideas on the type or colours etc etc you want for your site so they can give you a quote.

whittle it down to 2 or 3 that you found most interesting at the best prices

once you have your quotes go to a couple of web design forums, these places are full of professional website developers and they will be able to tell you if the choice you have made is the right one by looking at the developers portfolio.

How Much Urgency Should I Feel To Bring My Design Skill Over To Web? I’m a print designer possibly looking to crossover to web design/development. But how important is it for me to do that? Is there still a strong market for print designers?

    • Well I think that TM has given you a possible theme song for your business idea, lol
I am not sure that I fully understand your question. I think that your cross over idea is great if you are passionate about it. How important is it? The proper question is, how important is it to you?
Your second question about a market for print design has got me stuck. Are you wanting to promote your professional skills in print design? Cross over or not? Both?

If you are seeking web development ideas you can take a look at the web host I use for web development. http://find.sitesell.com/UnstoppableDreams.html
You may be able to spark some ideas for your web design/development.

      BEST WISHES!

Definition About Design? Definition about good design of web

    • From Mashable:
Web design is a broad term covering many different skills and disciplines that are used in the production and maintenance of websites. The different areas of web design include; web graphic design, interface design, authoring; including standardised code and proprietary software, user experience design and search engine optimization. Often many individuals will work in teams covering different aspects of the design process, although some designers will cover them all. The term web design is normally used to describe the design process relating to the front-end (client side) design of a website including writing mark up, but this is a grey area as this is also covered by web development. Web designers are expected to have an awareness of usability and if their role involves creating mark up then they are also expected to be up to date with web accessibility guidelines.

Professional Web Designers? Please Help? I want to create a really nice looking website, preferably flash. At first I will have content and some products to sell, I might want to add some other features after. Maybe member sign up, forum, newsletter blast, videos I’m not exactly sure where I’ll be going with it but I know I don’t want it to be ordinary and I want it to become something big.
    So far I:
    -Bought a domain name
    -Got a host
-Learned some basic html, css and javascript

I’m using hostgator as my host and im very confused by all the features on the control panel. Should I use site builder to build my website? should I take a template I like and play with it? should I take a flash website I like and copy the code?
    Should I learn php?
I don’t know where to start! I know there are many website builders that come for free but I want to be in control of my own website and im very confused of where to begin and what I need to learn.

    Any guidance?
    Thank you.

    • Use Ultimate Web Builder – http://www.redesigns.org/web-builder

It is very easy to design, build, and update your website with it. It comes with free tech support if you need any help. Check it out and play around with the online demo there. It comes with a mailing list application (great for your newsletter blast), built-in forum, members can register on it, you can embed videos, ads, sell stuff with the built-in e-commerce system – you can even create coupon codes for store promotions…and a lot more features. It’s the best.

Instead of putting your website in flash, you can create awesome animations, slideshows and photo galleries with this software – it uses javascript coding which is much better for search engine optimization than flash. The software also comes with a SEO (search engine optimization) tool.
