Must Have Music

Must Have Music

With so many places to explore online and lots of different activities to pursue, anyone with a website or in the process of building one must be able to quickly grab the attention of the consumer. If you would like to learn how to have a website that is designed to drive visitors to you and keep them when they get there, continue on for some excellent tips.

Colors

The first step in the process of developing a successful site is to have a full understanding of who your audience is. If your site is geared towards men you will want to keep the site more manly and use things that men are interested in. Likewise, if your site is for women then you choose colors that are appropriate for them. Same with children. Knowing your audience is the first step that lets you focus on and target your key audience.

Consumers

Kiss. That stands for keep it simple stupid. Ever heard that before? Well it applies to website design. You don’t want a site that is confusing to navigate and hard to follow what it is you want them to do. Keep things simple and guide your consumers to places that you would like them to go. Remember, a frustrated consumer is an unhappy customer who will either complain to you or quickly leave your site. That results in lost business for you.

Exit Sign

Entertain your guests. Yes, your website visitors are your guess and you should treat them as such. Give them interactive features such as videos that explain your product in a fun and interesting way. Most people have fast internet connections nowadays and are used to seeing video. This is an excellent way to entertain your potential customers while trying to sell them something. Most importantly, it keep them on your site.

Most people do not like to hear music when they go to a website or see lots of flashing graphics in their face. That turns people off and they quickly look for the exit sign. If you must have music then have a way for the consumer to turn it off. Likewise, if you must have graphics then do not have it on the home page. Make sure home page as clean as possible and easy to read.

Interactive Features

A menu up top that is simple and clean will be very attractive to a website visitor. Nothing is more frustrating to a consumer than trying to locate different areas of a website only to continuously land in the wrong spot. this quickly leads to the consumer finding another site that can Web Designquickly take care of their needs. This is how a lot of websites lose their customers. A messy web design that confuses people leads to loss of business.

How Does The Market Solve The Consumer Goods-capital Goods Production Dilemma? How does the market solve the consumer goods-capital goods production dilemma? How does the command system attempt to solve it?

    • Consumer goods-Capital goods dilemma is solved by increasing the production of Capital Goods in order to meet the increased demand for the consumer goods. In a free market economy this is done by market forces of demand and supply. Government does not interfere directly.

A Command system is one where the government, rather than the free market, determines what goods should be produced, how much should be produced and the price at which the goods will be offered for sale. The command economy is a key feature of most communist society.
A command system is also known as a planned economy and are unable to efficiently allocate goods because of the knowledge problem – the central planner’s inability to discern how much of a good should be produced. Shortages and surpluses are a common consequence of command economies. A free-market price system, on the other hand, signals to producers what they should be creating and in what quantities, resulting in a much more efficient allocation of goods.

    • Hello lanS,

Embedding a map into a website or blog
      Print

You can embed a simple map, a set of driving directions, a local search, or maps created by other users. Here’s how:

      1. Ensure that the map you’d like to embed appears in the current map display.
      2. Click Link to this page in the top-right corner of the map.
      3. In the box that pops up, copy the HTML under ‘Paste HTML to embed in website,’ and paste it into the source code of your website or blog.

If you’d like to adjust the size of the map before you embed it, just click Customize and preview embedded map, select your preferred size, and take a look at the preview map. Once you’re happy with what you see, copy the HTML that appears in the box at the bottom of the window.

Keep in mind that you won’t be able to embed Traffic maps, Mapplets, and some other Maps features.

Consumer Product Safety Act Of 1972? What was the consumer issue that caused the need for the act?

Why the revelent consumer issue became inmportant at the time the act was passed?

was there a specific chain of events that led to the legislation

    who promoted the legislation?

    • Congress passed the Consumer Product Safety Act in 1972 to “assist consumers in evaluating the comparative safety of consumer products; to develop uniform safety standards for consumer products and to minimize conflicting state and local regulations; and to promote research and investigation into the causes and prevention of product related death, illnesses, and injuries.” The act also established the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to “protect the public against unreasonable risks associated with consumer products.” The CPSC has authority to set mandatory standards, ban products, order recalls of unsafe products, and institute labeling requirements.

The CPSC is an independent regulatory agency charged with protecting consumers from unreasonable risk of injury associated with consumer products. The most serious risks include amputation, electrocution, burns, asphyxiation, and cancer. Examples of recent product liability lawsuits in which defendant companies lost include breast implants that leaked silicone gel and football helmets that did not have enough padding. The commission has jurisdiction over about 15,000 types of consumer products, such as automatic coffee makers, toys, furniture, clothing, and lawn mowers. The CPSC works to reduce the risk of injury and death from consumer products by:

      Developing voluntary standards with industry
Issuing and enforcing mandatory standards and banning consumer products if no feasible standard would adequately protect the public
Obtaining the recall of products or arranging for their repair
Conducting research on potential product hazards
Informing and educating consumers through the media, state and local governments, and private organizations, and by responding to consumer inquiries. (CPSC, 1999).
The CPSC has three key program areas:

The Office of Hazard Identification and Reduction, which collects and analyzes consumer injury and death data to determine trends in consumer product hazards.
The Office of Compliance and Enforcement, which supervises compliance and administrative activities related to the act. This office also reviews proposed standards and rules with respect to their enforceability.
The Office of Information and Public Affairs, which is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive national information and public affairs program designed to promote product safety. (Fise, 1998).
In recent years, the CPSC has been involved in actions to protect children. In 1987, for example, the commission began to examine toys that pose choking hazards. This led Congress to pass the Child Safety Protection Act of 1994. A sample of child safety issues investigated by the commission includes bicycle helmets, public play grounds, upholstered furniture, walkers, drawstrings on children’s clothing, baseball protective equipment, and toys. More than 160 deaths from toys were reported between 1990 and 1997, and at least seventy-two different toys that posed a small-parts hazard were recalled between October 1996 and September 1997 by the CPSC.(Public Interest Research Group [PIRG], 2000). PIRG reports that in 1998 fewer toys posing choking hazards appeared on shelves.

In addition, the commission has also written rules to establish performance, design, composition, packaging, and construction standards for many products. Examples of products with mandatory safety standards include matchbooks, walk-behind power lawn mowers, residential garage door openers, swimming pool slides, chain-saws, home-use pesticides, and cellulose insulation (Garman, 1997).

Consumers have benefited in the areas where the CPSC has taken action. The commission is constantly challenged to keep abreast of new products and potential hazards that may be associated with them. The commission is usually able to react, however, only after a consumer has been injured or died. The CPSC has changed the way many products are designed and manufactured. Continuing education by consumer groups, the media, and the CPSE has helped increase public awareness of possible consumer safety hazards. The CPSC is an important consumer protection agency, protecting consumers by assuring that products they use every day are safe.

Is This A Good Website Design? Hi,

I would really appreciate it if you could let me know what you think of my new website design. Me and my wife have spent a lot of time and money trying to make it look professional. The website is to sell mobile phones.

Here is a link: (Temporary Domain): http://tvpreview.co.uk/index.php/

If it is possible, please could you let me know what you think of the design of the homepage.
    - Rate it out of 10 (1 poor to 10 Fab)
    - Postives
    - Negatives
    - Improvements

Main question: What niche age do you think it would appeal to?.

Thank you so much for your time,
    Joe.

    • I will answer your question based on categories that I’m going to list below.

But first thing first I just only want to make it clear that this is just only my personal opinion as a critics viewing website.

I will tell things that I saw negative rather than saying what is already positive on the design.

      1. Color
      2. General Layout
      3. User Accessibility

COLOR: I cannot distinguished what is the based color of the website since it is macro color or technicolor. Most website have a base theme color, even it has color combination it should still have the ability to show the visitor the base color

like for example Yahoo: the base color is purple but it still have other color such as blue and red. but by 1 looking at yahoo website purple color is what stick on my mind “oh its yahoo”

It is still good to have a base color for any website so that visitor can easily remember your site.

The macro color is perhaps good in solid prints such as flyers and brochure that is give by sales man outside a grocery or mall. but in website? I don’t thing its good

      2. General Layout: hhhmm I get confused on the image slider because Its hard to distinguish it coz it blends on the 2 images adds below. maybe the macro color also affect.

      3. User-Accessibility – As a visitor sometimes I am lazy to scroll my my page over and over again just to see all web content. Most visitor want to instantly see the actual content of the website and if there some other minor detail it should separate in the new page.

Like in a movie commercial it just like a teaser. or in a news paper it just like a headline.

Another things is perhaps it should be great if the content of the page is auto-fit 100% to the browser width. Most latest html/css design use the maximum width.

Well like what I said it just my personal thought… Hope it help
